Knitted hair band / scrunchy in DROPS Sky. The hair band is worked sideways with stocking stitch.

SIZE:
Approx. 6 cm in width when measured flat.

MATERIALS:
DROPS SKY from Garnstudio (belongs to yarn group B)
50 g colour 09, brick red
50 g colour 14, light lilac
50 g colour 16, lemon
50 g colour 15, light mint

One hair band weighs approx. 18 g.

KNITTING TENSION:
20 stitches in width and 26 rows in height with stocking stitch = 10 x 10 cm.

NEEDLES:
DROPS DOUBLE POINTED NEEDLES SIZE 4.5 MM.
Needle size is only a guide. If you get too many stitches on 10 cm, change to a larger needle size. If you get too few stitches on 10 cm, change to a smaller needle size.

ACCESSORIES:
Trouser elastic, approx. 20 cm.

START THE PIECE HERE:

HAIR BAND – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE:
The hair band is worked sideways with stocking stitch, back and forth using 2 double pointed needles.

HAIR BAND:
Cast on 27 stitches with 2 double pointed needles size 4.5 mm and Sky. Work stocking stitch back and forth until the piece measures approx. 53 cm. Cast off with knit from the right side.

ASSEMBLY:
Lay the cast-on and cast-off edges together and sew them edge to edge. Cut the trouser elastic to approx. 20 cm in length and tie the ends together. Lay the elastic on the wrong side of the piece and sew the sides together, edge to edge, with the elastic inside. Cut and fasten the strand.
