SIZE:
Approx. 4 cm measured when flat.
MATERIALS:
DROPS MERINO EXTRA FINE from Garnstudio (belongs to yarn group B)
50 g colour 38, blue fog
The piece weighs approx. 20 g
CROCHET TENSION:
18 treble crochets in width and 9 rows in height = 10 x 10 cm.
CROCHET HOOK:
DROPS CROCHET HOOK SIZE 4 MM.
Hook size is only a guide. If you get too many stitches on 10 cm, change to a larger hook size. If you get too few stitches on 10 cm, change to a smaller hook size.
ACCESSORIES:
Trouser elastic, approx. 20 cm
CROCHET TIP FOR CHAIN STITCHES:
If you work outermost on the hook the chain stitch will often be too tight; 1 chain stitch should be as long as 1 double crochet/treble crochet is wide.
CROCHET TIP FOR TREBLE CROCHETS:
The first treble crochet on the row is replaced by 3 chain stitches.

START THE PIECE HERE:

HAIR-BAND – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE:
The hair-band is worked back and forth and sewn together to finish.
Work 77 chain stitches with hook size 4 mm and Merino Extra Fine – read CROCHET TIP. Turn and work 1 treble crochet in the 4th chain stitch from the hook (= 2 treble crochets), then work 1 treble crochet in each of the 73 remaining chain stitches = 75 treble crochets. Turn. REMEMBER THE CROCHET TENSION! Continue as follows:
ROW 2: 1 treble crochet – read CROCHET TIP FOR TREBLE CROCHETS, * 1 chain stitch, skip 1 treble crochet, 1 treble crochet in the next treble crochet *, repeat from *-* to the end of the row. Turn.
ROW 3: 1 treble crochet in each treble crochet and 1 treble crochet in each chain stitch.
ROW 4: 1 treble crochet in each treble crochet.
ROW 5: 1 treble crochet, * 1 chain stitch, skip 1 treble crochet, 1 treble crochet in next treble crochet *, repeat from *-* to end of row. Turn.
ROW 6: 1 treble crochet in each treble crochet and 1 treble crochet in each chain stitch. Cut and fasten the strand.
ASSEMBLY:
Sew together the short side with small stitches. Fold the piece double in length, with the wrong-side inside and work a row of double crochets through both layers. Work 1 double crochet in each treble crochet/chain stitch/ chain stitch row. Continue until you have 5 cm left. Thread the elastic through the hair-band, tie a knot in the elastic and then crochet together the last 5 cm. Cut and fasten the strand.
