PATTERN:
See diagram A.1.

DECREASE TIP:
All decreases are worked on a round with off-white (i.e. knitted stitches).
Work 5 stitches and 3 yarn overs (= a total of 8 stitches) together as follows:
Work until there are 2 stitches and 1 yarn over left before the stitch with the marker thread, slip the first 3 stitches and 2 yarn-overs onto the right needle as if to knit together, knit together the next 2 stitches and 1 yarn over, pass the 5 slipped stitches (including yarn overs) over the knitted together stitches (= 4 stitches decreased).
Decrease like this at both marker threads (= 8 stitches decreased).

MITTENS – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE:
The piece is worked in the round with double pointed needles.

MITTEN:
Cast on 40-44 stitches with double pointed needles size 2 mm and light sea green.
Knit 1 round. Work rib (= knit 1, purl 1) for 5-5 cm.
Work A.1 in the round over all stitches. Insert 1 marker thread in the first stitch (= 1 knitted stitch) and I marker thread in the 21st-23rd stitch (= 1 knitted stitch). These marker threads will be used when decreasing at the top of the mitten.
Repeat A.1a in height. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION!

When the piece measures 8-11 cm decrease 2 stitches on each side of both markers – read DECREASE TIP (= 8 stitches decreased).
Decrease like this every 8th round a total of 1-2 times, then every 4th round a total of 3-2 times = 8-12 stitches left on the round. Knit all stitches together 2 and 2 with off white = 4-6 stitches.
Cut the strand, pull it through the remaining stitches, tighten and fasten well.
The mitten measures approx. 11-14 cm.

Work 1 more mitten in the same way.
