S/M – M/L
Fits head size: approx. 54/56 – 56/58 cm
MATERIALS:
DROPS SKY from Garnstudio (belongs to yarn group B)
50-100 g colour 17, curry
KNITTING TENSION:
23 stitches in width and 32 rows in height with stocking stitch = 10 x 10 cm. NOTE: The rib will tighten the fabric.
NEEDLES:
DROPS DOUBLE POINTED NEEDLES SIZE 3 MM.
DROPS CIRCULAR NEEDLE SIZE 3 MM: Length 40 cm.
Needle size is only a guide. If you get too many stitches on 10 cm, change to a larger needle size. If you get too few stitches on 10 cm, change to a smaller needle size.

START THE PIECE HERE:

HAT – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE:
The piece is worked in the round with circular needle, bottom up. Change to double pointed needles when necessary as you decrease towards the top.
HAT:
Cast on 124-128 stitches with short circular needle size 3 mm and Sky. Purl 1 round. Then work rib in the round (= knit 2/ purl 2). When the piece measures 25-26 cm from the cast-on edge start to decrease; i.e. work as follows:
ROUND 1: Decrease all purl-2 to purl-1 (purl 2 together) = 93-96 stitches.
ROUNDS 2-3: Knit over knit and purl over purl.
ROUND 4: Decrease all knit-2 to knit-1 (knit 2 together) = 62-64 stitches.
ROUNDS 5-6: Knit over knit and purl over purl.
ROUND 7: Knit all stitches together 2 and 2 = 31-32 stitches.
ROUNDS 8-9: Knit.
ROUND 10: Knit all stitches together 2 and 2 until there is 1-0 stitch left, knit the remaining stitch = 16-16 stitches.
ROUND 11: Knit.
ROUND 12: Knit all stitches together 2 and 2 = 8-8 stitches.
Cut the strand, pull it through the remaining stitches, tighten and fasten well.
The hat measures approx. 29-30 cm from the cast-on edge. Turn up the bottom 5 cm.
