EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN:

-------------------------------------------------------

PATTERN:
See diagrams A.1 to A.6 (A.1, A.3 and A.5 show how rounds start and finish).

CROCHET TIP (for chain stitches):
1 chain stitch is equivalent to 1 double crochet/treble crochet etc. in width. Make sure the loop worked in the chain stitch is pulled a little way up the hook so that it is not tight. If the chain stitches are too tight, the sections in the bag with lots of chain stitches will also be too tight.

BAG - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE:
The piece is worked in the round, bottom up. Read CROCHET TIP (for chain stitches).

BAG:
Work 4 chain stitches with hook size 3 mm and Safran and form them into a ring with 1 slip stitch in the first chain stitch. Work pattern in the round as follows: A.1 (shows how the rounds start), work A.2 a total of 10 times on the round. REMEMBER THE CROCHET TENSION! When A.1 and A.2 have been completed in height there are 80 treble crochets on the round. Continue with treble crochets and increases like this; i.e. increase 10 treble crochets on each round and there will be 1 more treble crochet between each increase after each round worked. When you have worked 15 rounds of treble crochets there are 150 treble crochets on the round. Work 1 more round where you increase 30 treble crochets evenly spaced = 180 treble crochets.
Insert a marker thread in the piece. THE PIECE IS NOW MEASURED FROM HERE!
Now work pattern in the round as follows: Work A.3 (shows how rounds start and finish), A.4 a total of 15 repeats on the round. When A.3 and A.4 have been completed in height, repeat the last 4 rounds in the diagrams until the piece measures 25 cm from the marker thread – adjust so that you finish after a complete repeat in height. Now work the straps as follows:

EDGE WITH STRAPS:
ROUND 1: Work A.5 (shows how rounds start and finish), A.6 a total of 15 times on the round = 180 treble crochets on round.
ROUND 2: Work 1 treble crochet in each treble crochet.
ROUND 3: Work 1 treble crochet in each of the first 30 treble crochets, work 90 loose chain stitches – remember CROCHET TIP, skip the next 30 treble crochets, work 1 treble crochet in each of the next 60 treble crochets, work 90 loose chain stitches, skip the next 30 treble crochets, work 1 treble crochet in each of the remaining 30 treble crochets.
ROUND 4: Work 1 double crochet in each of the first 30 treble crochets, work 1 double crochet in each of the next 90 chain stitches, 1 double crochet in each of the next 60 treble crochets, 1 double crochet in each of the next 90 chain stitches, 1 double crochet in each of the last 30 double crochets.
ROUNDS 5-8: Work 1 double crochet in each stitch. Cut and fasten strand.
