Measurements: 40 x 40 cm. The cover fits cushion size 45 x 45 cm; it needs to stretch a little to fit nicely.
DROPS Karisma from Garnstudio (belongs to yarn group B).
150 g colour 18, red.
100 g colour 01, off white.

KNITTING TENSION:
21 stitches in width and 28 rows in height with stocking stitch = 10 x 10 cm.

DROPS CIRCULAR NEEDLE SIZE 4 MM: length 60 cm.
Needle size is only a guide. If you have too many stitches on 10 cm, change to a larger needle size. If you have too few stitches on 10 cm, change to a smaller needle size.

FILLER CUSHION: 45 x 45 cm.

RIDGE/GARTER STITCH (worked in the round):
1 ridge = 2 rounds. Knit 1 round and purl 1 round.

START THE PIECE HERE:

CUSHION COVER- SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE:
The cushion cover is worked in the round with circular needle, bottom up, and sewn together at top and bottom.

CUSHION COVER:
Cast on 168 stitches with red and circular needle size4 mm and work 1 RIDGE – see description above. Then work stocking stitch in the round until the piece measures 3 cm. Now work according to the diagrams as follows: Work A.1 over all stitches (= 42 repeats). REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When A.1 has been worked 1 time in height, work A.2 over all stitches (= 28 repeats). Then work as follows: *A.3d (= 1 stitch), A.3a (= 18 stitches), A3d (= 1 stitch), A.3a (= 18 stitches), A.3b (= 9 stitches), A.3c (= 18 stitches), A.3d (= 1 stitch), A.3c (18 stitches)*. Repeat from *-* 1 more time. When A.3 has been worked 1 time in height, work A.4 over all stitches (= 28 repeats). Then work A.5 over all stitches (= 42 repeats). Continue with stocking stitch and red until the piece measures 40 cm. Work 1 ridge and loosely cast off.

ASSEMBLY:
Sew the top seam, edge to edge in the outermost loop of the outermost stitch. Place the filler cushion in the cover – make sure that you have a spruce tree in the middle of each side of the cushion. Sew the bottom seam.
