EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN:

-------------------------------------------------------

COLOUR CHANGE:
To give the neatest transition when changing colours, work the last slip stitch of the round with the new colour as follows: Insert the hook into the first chain stitch from the beginning of the round, make a yarn over with the new colour and pull it through the stitch on the hook.
Ghost with black mouth – start piece like so: work the chain stitch ring and the first 2 rounds in black and change to white at the end of the second round.
Ghost with white mouth – start piece like so: work the chain stitch ring and the 1 round in white, change to black at the end of the first round, work 1 round with black and change back to white at the end of the round

PATTERN: See diagrams A.1- A.3, A.2 shows how the rounds start with chain stitch(es) and finish with a slip stitch in the first/third chain stitch at the beginning of the round.

STIFFENING
To make the ghost a little stiff – dip it in sugared water or colourless fizzy drink and lay flat to dry.
