INFORMATION FOR PATTERN:
GARTER STITCH (worked in the round):
1 ridge = 2 rounds. Knit 1 round and purl 1 round.
GARTER STITCH (back and forth):
1 ridge = knit 2 rows.
PATTERN:
See diagrams A.1 to A.3. Choose diagram for your size (applies to diagram A.1 and A.2). Diagrams show all rows in pattern seen from the right side. Work all stiches in stocking stitch.
INCREASE TIP:
Increase 2 stitches mid under sleeve. Begin 1 stitch before marker thread, make 1 yarn over, knit 2 (marker thread is in the middle of these stitches), make 1 yarn over. On next round work yarn overs twisted to avoid holes.
----------------------------------------------------------
JUMPER:
Work front and back piece back and forth on circular needle. Work sleeves in the round on double pointed needles.
BACK PIECE:
Cast on 59-61-73-73-79 stitches on circular needle size 9 mm with green. Work 3 ridges in GARTER STITCH - see explanation above. Then work in stocking stitch with 3 stitches in garter stitch in each side. When piece measures 20 cm, cast on 1 new stitch at the end of the next 2 rows (marks where vent begin) = 61-63-75-75-81 stitches. Then work in stocking stitch with 4 stitches in garter stitch in each side. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When piece measures 45-46-47-49-50 cm, cast off 2-3-3-3-3 stitches at beginning of the next 2 rows for armholes = 57-57-69-69-75 stitches. Work 2-2-2-4-4 rows with green (work in stocking stitch, with 1 edge stitch in garter stitch in each side). Then work PATTERN – see explanation above, from right side as follows: 1 edge stitch in garter stitch, A.1 (= 3-3-9-9-12 stitches), A.2 over the next 48 stitches (= 4 repetitions of 12 stitches), A.3 (= 4-4-10-10-13 stitches), 1 edge stitches in garter stitch. When A.1, A.2 and A.3 have been worked 1 time vertically, continue in stocking stitch and green. When piece measures 63-65-68-71-73 cm, cast off the middle 17-17-17-19-19 stitches for neck and finish each shoulder separately. On next row from the neck, cast off 1 stitch = 19-19-25-24-27 stitches remain on shoulder. Cast off when piece measures 65-67-70-73-75 cm. Work the other shoulder the same way.
FRONT PIECE:
Cast on 59-61-73-73-79 stitches on circular needle size 9 mm with green. Work 3 ridges in GARTER STITCH - see explanation above. Then work in stocking stitch with 3 stitches in garter stitch in each side. When piece measures 20 cm, cast on 1 new stitch at the end of the next 2 rows (marks where vent begin) = 61-63-75-75-81 stitches. Then work in stocking stitch with 4 stitches in garter stitch in each side. Then work pattern from right side as follows: 1 edge stitch in garter stitch, A.1 (= 3-3-9-9-12 stitches), A.2 over the next 48 stitches (= 4 repetitions of 12 stitches), A.3 (= 4-4-10-10-13 stitches), 1 edge stitches in garter stitch. When A.1, A.2 and A.3 have been worked 1 time vertically, continue in stocking stitch and green. When piece measures 59-60-62-65-66 cm, slip the middle 9-9-9-11-11 stitches on a stitch holder for neck and finish each shoulder separately. Then cast off stitches on every row from neck: 3 stitches 1 time and 2 stitches 1 time = 19-19-25-24-27 stitches remain for shoulder. Cast off when piece measures 65-67-70-73-75 cm. Work the other shoulder the same way.
SLEEVE:
Work sleeve in the round on double pointed needles.
Cast on 21-21-23-23-25 stitches on double pointed needles size 9 mm with green. Work 6 ridges in GARTER STITCH - see explanation above. Then work in stocking stitch. Insert 1 marker thread at beginning of round = mid under sleeve. When piece measures 8-8-8-6-7 cm, increase 2 stitches mid under sleeve - READ INCREASE TIP. Increase like this every 6th-6th-6th-6th-4th round 8-7-2-2-9 times, then every 0-4th-4th-4th-3th round 0-2-8-9-2 times = 37-39-43-45-47 stitches. When piece measures 42-43-39-40-38 cm, cast off 4-6-6-6-6 stitches mid under sleeve = 33-33-37-39-41 stitches. Now work a small sleeve cap for better fit back and forth on circular needle. Cast off for sleeve cap in each side, cast off at beginning of every row as follows: 4 stitches 4 times (= cast off 4 stitches 2 times in each side) = 17-17-21-23-25 stitches remain on needle. Then cast off the remaining stitches. Work another sleeve the same way.
ASSEMBLY:
Sew the shoulder seams tog. Sew sleeves in body - se in edge stitch on body and inside cast-off edge on sleeve. Sew side seam from armhole and down to stitch cast on after vent. Fasten off.
NECK EDGE:
Pick up approx. 44-55 stitches (including stitches on stitch holders) on double pointed needles for neck. Work 2 ridges in the round, knit 1 round and cast off with purl.
