Knitted pumpkin pot holders for Halloween with textured pattern in 2 stands DROPS Paris.

Measurements: approx. 18 x 18 cm
Materials:
DROPS PARIS from Garnstudio
100 g colour no 13, orange
50 g colour no 11, opal green

DROPS STRAIGHT NEEDLE SIZE 5.5 mm - or size needed to get 14 sts x 27 rows in garter st with 2 strands = 10 x 10 cm.

YARN TIP:
When working with 2 strands from same ball, work from inside and outside of same ball.

DOUBLE ST:
K 1 st in st below K st on needle. (I.e. sts from the two previous rows are worked as one).

POT HOLDER:
Worked back and forth on needle.
Cast on 9 sts on needle size 5.5 mm with 2 strands orange.
ROW 1: K all sts. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION
ROW 2: K all sts.
ROW 3 (= RS): K 1, 1 DOUBLE ST - see explanation above, K 1, 1 double st, K 1, 1 double st, K 1, 1 double st, K 1.
ROW 4: K all sts.
ROW 5: K 1, 1 YO, 1 double st, 1 YO, K 1, 1 YO, 1 double st, 1 YO, K 1, 1 YO, 1 double st, 1 YO, K 1, 1 YO, 1 double st, 1 YO, K 1.
ROW 6: K all sts and K YOs twisted to avoid holes = 17 sts.
ROW 7: K all sts and work double sts over the double sts below.
ROW 8: K all sts.
ROW 9: K 2, 1 double st, 1 YO, K 3, 1 YO, double st, 1 YO, K 3, 1 YO, 1 double st, 1 YO, K 3, 1 YO, 1 double st, K 2.
ROW 10: K all sts and K YOs twisted to avoid holes = 23 sts.
ROW 11: K all sts and work double sts over the double sts below.
ROW 12: K all sts.
Repeat row 11 and 12 until piece measures 14 cm. Finish by working last row from RS. Cut the yarn and switch to 2 strands opal green.
Work next row from WS: P all sts.
Then work as follows:
ROW 1 (= RS): K 2 tog, K 3, K 2 tog, K 4, K 2 tog, K 3, K 2 tog, K 3, K 2 tog = 18 sts on needle.
ROW 2: K all sts.
ROW 3: K 2 tog, K until 2 sts remain, K 2 tog = 16 sts on needle.
ROW 4: K all sts.
ROW 5: K 2 tog, K until 2 sts remain, K 2 tog = 14 sts on needle.
ROW 6: K all sts.
ROW 7: K 2 tog, cast off 5 sts, * YO, cast off YO *, repeat from *-* 14 times in total (= strap), cast off until 2 sts remain, K 2 tog and cast off this st.

Cut the yarn and fasten.
