DROPS CROCHET HOOK SIZE 4.5 mm – or size needed to get 16 tr x 9 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

1½ metre thin steel wire for edge.

CROCHET INFO:
Work every round with tr as follows: Replace 1st tr on round with 3 ch, skip 1st tr from previous round and finish round with 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round.

HAT:
Worked in the round. Work 2-2 ch with Paris on hook size 4.5 mm.
ROUND 1: Work 12-12 tr in 1st ch worked - Read CROCHET INFO.
ROUND 2: Work 2 tr in every tr = 24-24 tr.
ROUND 3: Work * 2 tr in next tr, 1 tr in next tr *, repeat from *-* the entire round = 36-36 tr.
ROUND 4: Work * 2 tr in next tr, 1 tr in each of the next 2 tr *, repeat from *-* the entire round = 48-48 tr.
ROUND 5: Work * 2 tr in next tr, 1 tr in each of the next 3 tr *, repeat from *-* the entire round = 60-60 tr.
Size S/M is now done, continue with L/XL as follows:
ROUND 6: Work * 2 tr in next tr, 1 tr in each of the next 4 tr *, repeat from *-* the entire round = 72 tr.

ROUND 7: This round is worked differently in the two sizes:
SIZE S/M: Work 1 ch, 1 dc in first tr, * 5 ch, skip 2 tr, work 1 dc in next tr, 5 ch, skip 1 tr, work 1 dc in next tr, 5 ch, skip 2 tr, work 1 dc in next tr *, repeat from *-* 6 times in total (= 18 ch-spaces), * 5 ch, skip 2 tr, work 1 dc in next tr *, repeat from *-* 3 times in total, 5 ch, skip 2 tr and finish with 1 sl st in first dc on round = 22 ch-spaces.
SIZE L/XL: Work 1 ch, 1 dc in first tr, * 5 ch, skip 2 tr, work 1 dc in next tr *, repeat from *-* until 2 tr remain, finish with 5 ch and 1 sl st in first dc on round = 24 ch-spaces.
ROUND 8: Work 2 ch, 1 dc in first ch-space, * 5 ch, work 1 dc in next space *, repeat from *-* the entire round, finish with 5 ch and 1 sl st in first dc on round = 22-24 ch-spaces.
ROUND 9: Work as 8th round.
ROUND 10: This round is worked differently in the two sizes:
SIZE S/M: Work 1 ch, 1 dc in first dc, * 2 dc in next ch-space, 1 dc in next dc, work 1 dc in next ch-space, work 1 dc in next dc, 2 dc in next ch-space, 1 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* 6 times in total, * 2 dc in next ch-space, work 1 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* 3 times in total, finish with 2 dc in last ch-space and 1 sl st in first dc on round = 60 dc.
SIZE L/XL: Work 1 dc in first dc, * 2 dc in next ch-space, 1 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* until 1 ch-space remains, finish with 2 dc in last ch-space and 1 sl st in first dc on round = 72 dc.
ROUND 11- 13: Work 1 ch, 1 dc in every dc on round and finish with 1 sl st in first dc = 60-72 dc.
ROUND 14: Work as 7th round but now work in dc instead of tr = 22-24 ch-spaces.
ROUND 15- 16: Work as 8th and 9th round = 22-24 ch-spaces.
ROUND 17: Work as 10th round = 60-72 dc.
ROUND 18- 19: Work 1 ch, 1 dc in every st on round, finish with 1 sl st in first dc = 60-72 dc.
ROUND 20: Work * 1 sl st in each of the next 6-9 dc, 1 ch *, repeat from *-* 10-8 times in total (= 10-8 sts inc), finish with 1 sl st in first sl st = 10-8 ch and 60-72 sl st.
ROUND 21: Work 1 ch, 1 dc in every st on round, finish with 1 sl st in first dc = 70-80 dc.
ROUND 22: Work 1 ch, * 2 dc in first dc, 1 dc in each of the next 5-10 dc, *, repeat from *-* until 4-3 dc remain, 1 dc in each of the 4-3 dc, finish with 1 sl st in first dc = 81-87 dc.

ROUND 23: Work 1 ch, 1 dc in first dc, * 5 ch, skip 2 dc, work 1 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* until 2 dc remain, finish with 5 ch and 1 sl st in first dc on round = 27-29 ch-spaces.
ROUND 24- 25: Work as 8th and 9th round = 27-29 ch-spaces.

ROUND 35: Work * 2 dc in first dc, 1 dc in each of the next 14-15 dc *, repeat from *-* the entire round, finish with 1 sl st in first dc = 144-153 dc.
ROUND 36: Work * 2 dc in first dc, 1 dc in each of the next 15-16 dc *, repeat from *-* the entire round, finish with 1 sl st in first dc = 153-162 dc.
ROUND 37- 38: Work 1 dc in every dc.
ROUND 39: Place 1 thin steel wire along the edge of brim. Work 1 dc in every dc around the wire. This is done to make the hat more stiff in outer edge. Fasten off.
