SCARF:
Measurements: approx. 27 x 160 cm
Materials: DROPS NEPAL from Garnstudio
300 g colour no 0501, grey

DROPS STRAIGHT NEEDLES SIZE 5.5 mm - or size needed to get 16 sts x 20 rows in pattern with 1 thread Nepal = 10 x 10 cm.

GARTER ST (back and forth on needle):
K all rows. 1 ridge = 2 rows K.
GARTER ST (in the round):
1 ridge = 2 rounds * K 1 round and P 1 round *, repeat from *-*.
PATTERN: See diagram A-1. Diagram shows the pattern seen from RS.

HAT:
Cast on 50-54 sts on double pointed needles size 7 mm with 2 threads Puddel or 4 threads Alpaca Boucle. Work in garter st in the round - see explanation above. When piece measures 6 cm, switch to circular needle size 5 mm and red Nepal. Continue in stocking st, AT THE SAME TIME on 1st row inc 40-42 sts evenly = 90-96 sts.
When piece measures 13-14 cm, insert 6 markers in the piece, 15-16 sts apart. Then dec on the left side of every marker by K 2 tog (i.e. dec 6 sts on round). Repeat dec every 7th round 12-13 more times = 12 sts remain on needle.
Switch to double pointed needles when needed. After last dec K all sts tog 2 by 2. Pull a double thread through the remaining 6 sts and fasten tightly.

POMPOM:
Make a pompom with Puddel or Alpaca Boucle with an approx. diameter of 10 cm. Fasten at the top of hat.

BEARD:
Cast on 3 sts with 2 threads Puddel or 4 threads Alpaca Boucle on needle size 15 mm. Work in garter st back and forth on needle, AT THE SAME TIME inc 1 st in each side every 2 cm a total of 8 times = 19 sts.
Optional cast off for mouth (not shown in picture): When piece measures 21 cm, cast off the middle 9 sts, on next row cast on 9 new sts over the cast off sts.
When piece measures 26 cm, cast off the middle 11 sts, and finish each side separately = 4 sts on each side.
Continue in garter st and dec 1 st towards the middle every cm, a total of 3 times = 1 st.
Cut the thread and pull it through the last st. Fasten the thread.

SCARF:
Cast on 43 sts on needle size 5.5 mm with grey Nepal. Work 4 rows in GARTER ST - see explanation above - and then work diagram A-1 with 2 sts in garter st each side. When piece measures approx. 159 cm, adjust after one whole or half repetition of diagram A-1, work 4 rows in garter st over all sts, then cast off, piece measures approx. 160 cm.
