Materials: DROPS FABEL from Garnstudio
50 g colour no 100, off white and 50 g colour no 106, red

or use:
DROPS FLORA from Garnstudio
50 g colour no 100, off white and 50 g colour no 18, red

DROPS DOUBLE POINTED NEEDLES SIZE 3 mm - or size needed to get 26 sts x 32 rows in stocking st = 10 x 10 cm.
DROPS DOUBLE POINTED NEEDLES SIZE 2.5 mm – for rib

PATTERN:
See diagrams A.1 to A.3.

LEFT MITTEN:
Worked in the round on double pointed needles. Cast on 64 sts on double pointed needles size 2.5 mm with red Fabel or Flora. K 1 round, then work rib = K 1/P 1 until piece measures 6 cm. Switch to double pointed needles size 3 mm and work diagram A.1 while AT THE SAME TIME inc 2 sts evenly on 1st round in A.1 = 66 sts. When diagram A.1 has been worked 1 time vertically, work diagram A.2 while AT THE SAME TIME dec 2 sts on first round in diagram A.2 = 64 sts. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION!
When it has been worked up to the 3 black squares on diagram A.2, continue with diagram A.3 over these 3 squares (continue the other sts in diagram A.2 as before). Inc in diagram A.3 by making 1 YO on each side of the middle st, on next round K YOs twisted (i.e. work in back loop of st instead front) to avoid holes. When 6 inc have been worked (there are now 15 sts in thumb gusset), work 4 rounds without inc (as shown in A.3), then slip the 15 thumb sts on a stitch holder. Cast on 3 new sts behind sts on stitch holder = 64 sts. Then work diagram A.2. When dec beg, dec on each side of (red, off white, red) in each side by working 2 sts tog with off white. Dec as follows before the 3 sts: K 2 tog Dec as follows after the 3 sts: Slip 1 st as if to K, K 1 with off white, psso. After all dec are done, 12 sts remain on needle. Cut the thread and pull it through the remaining sts, tighten tog and fasten.

THUMB:
Slip the 15 thumb sts back on double pointed needles size 3 mm. Knit up 9 sts in the edge behind the thumb = 24 sts. Continue in the round according to diagram A.3. When dec beg, dec on each side of 1 st red in each side by working 2 sts tog with off white. Dec as follows before 1 st red: K 2 tog Dec as follows after 1 st red: Slip 1 st as if to K, K 1, psso. After all dec are done, 8 sts remain on needle. Cut the thread and pull it through the remaining sts, tighten tog and fasten.

RIGHT MITTEN:
Cast on and work as left mitten but work the 3 black sts for thumb in the 6th, 7th and 8th st from the right in diagram A.3.
