Crochet DROPS Christmas mushroom in "Nepal".

Materials: DROPS NEPAL from Garnstudio
50 g colour no 0206 light beige
50 g colour no 3608 red
50 g colour no 0618 camel

DROPS CROCHET HOOK SIZE 3 mm - or size needed to get 20 dc = 10 cm.

Some cotton wool for filling.

CROCHET 2 STS TOG: work 2 tr tog into 1 dc as follows: Insert hook in first tr and pull thread through, insert hook in next tr and pull thread through, make 1 YO and pull thread through all 3 sts on hook.

CROCHET INFO: Finish every round with 1 sl st in first st on round.

MUSHROOM: Work on hook size 3 mm from bottom up, and from top down, and then work the parts tog in the middle.

BASE: Crochet 4 ch with light beige and form a ring with 1 sl st in first ch.
ROUND 1: 3 ch, work 12 tr in ch-ring – READ CROCHET INFO.
ROUND 2: 1 ch and * work 1 dc in first tr, work the next 2 tr tog into 1 dc – see explanation above *, repeat from * - * = 8 dc.
ROUND 3: 1 ch and work 8 dc.
ROUND 4: 1 ch and work 8 dc.
ROUND 5: 1 ch and work 8 dc.
Switch to camel.
ROUND 6: 3 ch and work 2 tr in every dc =16 tr.
ROUND 7: 3 ch and work 2 tr in every tr =32 tr.
Cut the thread and put piece aside.

THE TOP:
Work 4 ch with red and form a ring with 1 sl st in first ch – leave 30 cm thread to crochet a strap with afterwards.
ROUND 1: 1 ch and work 6 dc in ch-ring – READ CROCHET INFO.
ROUND 2: 1 ch and work 2 dc in every dc = 12 dc.
ROUND 3: 1 ch and * work 1 dc, in next dc work 2 dc *, repeat from * - * = 18 dc.
ROUND 4: 1 ch, * work 1 dc in each of the next 2 dc and in next dc work 2 dc *, repeat from *-* = 24 dc.
ROUND 5: 1 ch and work 24 dc.
ROUND 6: 1 ch, * work 1 dc in each of the next 2 dc and in next dc work 2 dc *, repeat from *-* = 32 dc.

ASSEMBLY:
Embroider on light beige dots at the red top with small duplicate sts. Work 16 ch with the 30 cm thread from the top and fasten tog into a strap at the top. Fasten all threads.
There are now 32 dc at the bottom and 32 dc around the top - fill the top and bottom with some cotton wool. Now place the bottom against the top and work an edge through both layers st by st with red as follows: 1 ch, * 1 dc through both layers, 2 ch *, repeat from *-* the entire round. Finish with 1 sl st in first ch on round. Cut and fasten the thread.
