COBWEB:
Crochet 4 ch on hook size 7 mm with off white and form a ring with 1 sl st in first ch.
ROUND 1: 1 ch, 12 dc in ch-ring and finish with 1 sl st in first dc from beg of round.
ROUND 2: 4 ch, 1 dtr in next dc, * 5 ch, 1 dtr in each of the 2 next dc - but wait with last pull through on both, make a YO and pull through all 3 sts on hook *, repeat from *-* a total of 5 times and finish with 5 ch and 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round = 6 tips.
ROUND 3: 14 ch, * 1 dtr in next tip from previous round, 10 ch *, repeat from *-* a total of 5 times, finish with 1 sl st in 4th ch from beg of round.
ROUND 4: 19 ch, * 1 triple tr in next dtr from previous round, 14 ch *, repeat from *-* a total of 5 times and finish with 1 sl st in 5th ch from beg of round.
ROUND 5: 25 ch, * 1 triple tr in next triple tr from previous round, 20 ch *, repeat from *-* a total of 5 times and finish with 1 sl st in 5th ch from beg of round.
ROUND 6: 32 ch, * 1 quadruple tr in next triple tr from previous round, 26 ch *, repeat from *-* a total of 5 times and finish with 1 sl st in 6th ch from beg of round.
ROUND 7: 38 ch, * 1 quadruple tr in next quadruple tr from previous round, 20 ch and work back in ch-row with 1 sl st in every ch, 32 ch *, repeat from *-* a total 5 times and finish with 1 sl st in 6th ch from beg of round, work 20 ch and work back in ch-row with 1 sl st in every ch. Finish with 1 sl st in 6th ch from beg of round. Cut and fasten the thread.
SPIDER:
The spider is worked in rows. Rotate the piece when working and work from RS the entire time.
ROW 1: Work 7 ch on hook size 7 mm with black.
ROW 2: Work back in ch-row as follows: 1 dc in 2nd ch from hook, then work 1 htr in next ch, 1 tr in next ch, 1 dtr in next ch, 1 triple tr in next ch and 1 triple tr in last ch (= first st on ch-row from beg) and work 4 ch. Rotate the piece and work 1 sl st on the underside of last triple tr (= 1st ch on ch-row from 1st row). The spider's body and head are done and continue to work 8 legs.
ROW 3: Continue working along the underside of ch-row from 1st row as follows: 1 sl st in each of the next 2 sts, * 6 ch, work back in ch-row, beg in 2nd ch from hook and work 1 sl st in each of the next 5 ch. Work 5 ch and work back in ch-row, beg in 2nd ch from hook and work 1 sl st in each of the next 4 ch * = leg 1 and 2. Then work 1 dc in each of the next 2 sts and repeat from *-* 1 time = leg 3 and 4. Work 1 sl st in next st, rotate the piece and work 2 dc in next st (= 7th ch from 1st row and mid front on the spider's body).
ROW 4: Rotate the piece and work 1 sl st in next st (= 1st dc from 2nd row), * 5 ch and work back in ch-row, beg in 2nd ch from hook and work 1 sl st in each of the next 4 ch. Continue with 6 ch and work back in ch-row, beg in 2nd ch from hook and work 1 sl st in each of the next 5 ch * = leg 5 and 6. Then work 1 dc in each of the next 2 sts and repeat from *-* 1 time = leg 7 and 8. Then work 1 sl st in same st as last dc and 1 sl st in each of the next 2 sts. Cut the thread, pull it through and fasten tightly.
Embroider on eyes with small stitches in yellow at the front of head and embroider a red cross at the back.
FLY:
ROW 1: Work 7 ch on hook size 7 mm with black.
ROW 2: Work back in ch-row as follows: 1 htr in 3rd ch from hook, 1 htr in each of the next 2 ch, 1 tr in each of the next 2 ch, work 3 ch, rotate the piece and work 1 sl st on the underside of last tr (= 1st ch on ch-row from 1st row). The fly's body and head are done and continue to make wings.
ROW 3: Continue to work along the underside of ch-row from 1st row as follows: Work 1 sl st in next tr, switch to light grey and work 1 sl st in next htr. Then work the wings as follows: * 3 ch, 1 tr in same htr, 1 tr in next htr, 3 ch, 1 sl st in same htr *, work 3 ch, rotate the piece and let the ch-row follow around to the back of the fly.
ROW 4: Work 1 sl st on the underside of the last htr worked on 3rd row and repeat from *-* 1 time. Cut and fasten the threads.
