Crochet rose and candle holder decoration in DROPS Safran.

BOBECHE:
To fit candle with a diameter of 5.5cm

Materials: DROPS SAFRAN
50 g colour no 28, orange.

DROPS CROCHET HOOK size 3 mm for the rose and size 3.5 mm for the bobeche.

CROCHET TIP:
Finish each round with 1 sl st in first st from beg of round (bobeche).

PICOT:
1 picot = 4 ch, 1 tr in the first of these 4 ch.

ROSE:
Work 4 ch with crochet hook 3 mm and Safran and form a ring with 1 sl st in first ch.
ROUND 1: 6 dc in ring.
ROUND 2: 3 ch, * 1 dc in next dc, 3 ch *, repeat from *-*, finish with 1 sl st in first ch on round = 6 ch-loops.
ROUND 3: Crochet as follows in each ch-loop: 1 dc, 1 ch, 3 tr, 1 ch and 1 dc.
ROUND 4: Fold leaves towards you and crochet in round 2 as follows: 5 ch, 1 dc round first dc on round 2, * 4 ch, 1 dc round next dc on round 2 *, repeat from *-*, finish with 4 ch and 1 sl st in first ch from beg of round = 6 ch-loops.
ROUND 5: Crochet as follows in each ch-loop: 1 dc, 1 ch, 5 tr, 1 ch and 1 dc.
ROUND 6: Fold leaves towards you and crochet in round 4 as follows: 6 ch, 1 dc round first dc on round 4, * 5 ch, 1 dc round next dc on round 4 *, repeat from *-*, finish with 5 ch and 1 sl st in first ch from beg of round = 6 ch-loops.
ROUND 7: Crochet as follows in each ch-loop: 1 dc, 1 ch, 7 tr, 1 ch and 1 dc.
ROUND 8: Fold leaves towards you and crochet in round 6 as follows: 7 ch, 1 dc round first dc on round 6, * 6 ch, 1 dc round next dc on round 6 *, repeat from *-*, finish with 6 ch and 1 sl st in first ch from beg of round = 6 ch-loops.
ROUND 9: Crochet as follows in each ch-loop: 1 dc, 1 ch, 9 tr, 1 ch and 1 dc, cut thread.
Glue the rose to a matchbox.

BOBECHE:
Crochet 30 ch with crochet hook size 3.5 mm and Safran and form a ring with 1 sl st in first ch.
ROUND 1: Crochet 36 dc in ring – see CROCHET TIP.
ROUND 2: 5 ch, * skip 2 dc, 1 dc in next dc, 4 ch *, repeat from *-*, finish with 1 sl st in first ch on round = 12 ch-loops.
ROUND 3: Crochet as follows in each ch-loop: 1 dc, 5 tr and 1 dc.
ROUND 4: Turn leaves towards you and crochet in round 2 as follows: 7 ch, 1 tr round first dc on round 2, * 5 ch, 1 tr round next dc on round 2 *, repeat from *-*, finish with 5 ch and 1 sl st in 2nd ch from beg of round = 12 ch-loops.
ROUND 5: Crochet as follows in each ch-loop: 1 dc, 7 tr and 1 dc.
ROUND 6: Turn leaves towards you and crochet in round 4 as follows: 9 ch, 1 tr round first tr on round 4, * 7 ch, 1 tr round next tr on round 4 *, repeat from *-*, finish with 7 ch and 1 sl st in 2nd ch from beg of round = 12 ch-loops.
ROUND 7: Crochet as follows in each ch-loop: 1 dc, 1 tr, 9 dtr, 1 tr and 1 dc.
Cut and fasten thread.

BOBECHE FOR LARGER CANDLE
Diameter 7 cm: Beg with 33 ch, crochet 39 dc on round 1 and then crochet 1 leaf extra = 13 leaves.
Diameter 8.5 cm: Beg with 36 ch, crochet 42 dc on round 1 and then crochet 2 leaves extra = 14 leaves.
For every 1½ cm extra diameter ad 3 ch + 3 dc and then 1 extra leaf.
