DROPS bag in ”Paris” with flounces.

Measurements: Approx width 30 cm x height 25 cm
Materials: DROPS PARIS from Garnstudio
300 g colour no 17, off-white.
50 g colour no 30, jeans blue

DROPS CIRCULAR NEEDLE (80 cm) size 5 mm – or size needed to get 17 sts x 22 rows in stocking st = 10 x 10 cm.
DROPS POINTED NEEDLES and CIRCULAR NEEDLE (60 cm) size 3.5 mm – or size needed to get 19 moss sts = width 10 cm – use 2 circular needles size 3.5 mm to make joining the pieces easier.

MOSS ST:
ROUND 1: * K1, P1 *, repeat from *-*. ROUND 2: P over K and K over P. Repeat round 2.

BOTTOM PART OF BAG:
Worked in the round on circular needle.
Cast on 112 sts on circular needle size 3.5 mm with off-white and work MOSS ST – see above – for 5 cm – P 1 round and put piece aside.

FLOUNCE 1: Cast on 168 sts on circular needle size 5 mm with jeans blue and p 1 round. Change to off-white and K 8 rounds. Change to circular needle size 3.5 mm and work next round as follows: * K1, K2 tog *, repeat from *-* = 112 sts. P 1 round.

JOINING PIECES:
Place flounce 1 on the bottom part of bag and work the 2 pieces tog, i.e. K tog 1 st from each part all the way round = 112 sts. Continue in off-white moss st for 5 cm, put piece aside.

FLOUNCE 2: Like flounce 1 and now work first and second flounce tog as described under Joining Pieces. Continue in off-white moss st for 5 cm – make sure to have the same no of rounds after flounce 2 as between flounce 1 and 2.

FLOUNCE 3: Like flounce 2.

FLOUNCE 4: Like flounce 2 but after joining flounce 4 to the rest of the bag P 1 round and then work next round as follows: * K2, K2 tog *, repeat from *-* = 84 sts. Continue in off-white moss st for 5 cm, K 1 round, P 1 round and cast off in K sts.

ASSEMBLY:
Place bag double and sew tog at bottom.

STRAPS:
Cast on 6 sts with off-white on needle size 3.5 mm and work moss st for 35 cm, cast off. Make 2 straps and sew to each side of bag – approx 3 cm in from each side - sew edge to edge to avoid a chunky seam.
