Not a Creature was Stirring...

Knitted DROPS Christmas mice in ”Alpaca”.

DROPS Extra 0-530
Length: approx 8 cm.

Materials: DROPS ALPACA from Garnstudio
50 g colour no 501, light grey
50 g colour no 517, grey
A remnant pink for nose and a remnant black for eyes.
Cotton wool for filling. Wire for tail and ears.

DROPS POINTED NEEDLES size 3 mm – or size needed to get 21 sts x 28 rows in stocking st with 2 threads Alpaca = 10 x 10 cm.

DROPS CROCHET HOOK size 3 mm.

MOUSE:
Worked in 2 threads, either in single colour or in stripes of your choice.

BODY: Cast on 16 sts on needle size 3 mm with 2 threads light grey or grey and work stocking st back and forth on needle, AT THE SAME TIME on row 3 inc 8 sts evenly by K2 in every other st = 24 sts. Continue until piece measures 7 cm. Now K2 tog across the row = 12 sts. Work 2 rows, work 1 row in pink (= nose). Cut the thread, pull through remaining sts and fasten.
Fill the mouse with cotton wool and sew tog mid back. Run the thread through cast on row, tighten to close mouse and fasten.

EARS: Cast on 5 sts on needle size 3 mm with 2 threads light grey or grey and K 4 rows. Work next row as follows: K2 tog, K1, K2 tog = 3 sts. K 2 rows and K3 tog on next row.
Make 2. Sew ears to top of head and pull a small wire through the outer side to make it stand up.
Sew 2 black sts for each eye.

TAIL: Crochet 12 ch with 2 threads light grey or grey with crochet hook size 3 mm. Work 3 dc in each ch. Cut the thread and sew tail to mouse. Pull a small wire through tail to make it stand up.
