Crocheted DROPS Easter egg and DROPS Easter basket in ”Muskat” and ”Glitter”.

DROPS Extra 0-500
EGG:
Materials: DROPS Muskat from Garnstudio
50 g colour no. 30, vanilla
50 g colour no. 02, light blue
50 g colour no. 53, apple green
50 g colour no. 04, lilac
50 g colour no. 61, beige
50 g colour no. 05, light purple
and use: DROPS Glitter
2 spools nr 01, gold

DROPS Crochet hook size 3 mm [US C] – or the size needed to obtain 22 dc [US sc] x 24 rounds with 1 thread Muskat and 2 threads Glitter = 10 x 10 cm / 4" x 4".

Fastening tip: At every colour change include thread ends when working next row. This way you don’t have to fasten any thread ends afterwards.

Crochet 2 dc tog to 1 dc:
Crochet 1 dc, but wait with last ‘pull through’ (= 2 sts on hook), then crochet next dc, but when making the last ‘pull through’, pull the yarn through all sts on hook - 1 dc has now been dec.

Easter egg: Crochet in the round in stripes and colour combinations of your own choice. Read fastening tip and UK/US!
Crochet 3 ch with 1 thread Muskat and 2 threads Glitter. Form a ring with 1 sl st in the 1st ch.
Now continue as follows:
1st round: 1 ch, 6 dc [US sc] in ring, 1 sl st in ch from beg of round.
2nd round: 1 ch, 2 dc in each dc, 1 sl st in ch from beg of round = 12 dc.
3rd round: 1 ch, * 1 dc in 1st dc, 2 dc in next dc *, repeat *-* and finish with 1 sl st in ch from beg of round = 18 dc.
4th round: 1 ch, * 1 dc in each of the first 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc *, repeat *-* and finish with 1 sl st in ch from beg of round = 24 dc.
5th round: 1 ch, * 1 dc in each of the first 3 dc, 2 dc in next dc *, repeat *-* and finish with 1 sl st in ch from beg of round = 30 dc.
6th-11th round: 1 ch, 1 dc in each dc, 1 sl st in ch from beg of round.
12th round: 1 ch, 1 dc in each of the first 3 dc, * 2 dc tog – see explanation above -, 1 dc in each of the next 6 dc *, repeat *-* 3 times and finish with 1 dc in each of the last 3 dc and 1 sl st in ch from beg of round = 27 dc.
13th round: 1 ch, 1 dc in each of the first 3 dc, * 1 dc in each of the next 5 dc, 2 dc tog, *, repeat *-* 3 times and finish with 1 dc in each of the last 3 dc and 1 sl st in ch from beg of round = 24 dc.
14th round: 1 ch, * 2 dc tog, 1 dc in each of the next 4 dc *, repeat *-* 4 times and finish with 1 sl st in ch from beg of round = 20 dc.
15th round: 1 ch, *1 dc in each of the next 3 dc, 2 dc tog *, repeat *-* 4 times and finish with 1 sl st in ch from beg of round = 16 dc.
Note! Now fill egg with wadding, cotton wool or similar.
16th round: Crochet all dc tog 2 by 2 = 8 dc.
17th round: Crochet all dc tog 2 by 2 = 4 dc.
18th round: Crochet 1 dc across opening through both layers.
Now crochet loop.

Loop: Continue with the same thread and crochet approx 30 ch. Crochet 1 sl st across opening through both layers. Cut and fasten the thread.

BASKET:

UK/US: This pattern is in British English.
There are different terms for crocheting in British and American English. UK dc = US sc.

Fastening tip: At every colour change include thread ends when working next row. This way you don’t have to fasten any thread ends afterwards.

Crochet tip: Replace first dc on round with 1 ch. Finish each round with 1 sl st in first dc.

Easter Basket: Crochet in the round with stripes and colour combinations of your own choice. Read fastening tip and UK/US!
1st round: Crochet 2 ch with 1 thread Muskat + 2 threads Glitter and hook size 3 mm [US C]. Crochet 7 dc [US sc] in 1st ch, finish with 1 sl st in 1st dc = 8 dc.
Now crochet in the round as follows:
2nd round: Read crochet tip! Crochet 2 dc in each dc = 16 dc. Check your crochet tension/gauge!
3rd round: * 1 dc in first dc, 2 dc in next dc *, repeat *-* = 24 dc.
4th round: 1 dc in each dc = 24 dc.
5th round: * 1 dc in the first 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc *, repeat *-* = 32 dc.
6th round: 1 dc in each dc = 32 dc.
7th round: * 1 dc in the first 3 dc, 2 dc in next dc *, repeat *-* = 40 dc.
Now continue inc 8 sts like this on every row with 1 additional dc between each inc until there are a total of 12 rounds = 80 dc.
Now crochet next 2 rounds as follows:
1st round: * 1 ch, skip 1 dc, 1 dc in next dc *, repeat *-*.
2nd round: * 1 dc in ch, 1 dc in next dc *, repeat *-*.
Now continue with 1 dc in each dc until piece measures 6 cm [2½"] from dc/ch round.
Crochet one last round with * 1 ch, skip 1 dc, 1 dc in next dc * repeat *-*.
Cut and fasten the thread.
