Body:
The body piece is worked in the round on circular needle up to armhole and then completed back and forth on needle. Alternatively continue in the round and cut for armhole afterwards – see instructions in pattern.
Cast on 236-246 sts on circular needle size 2.5 mm with dark steel blue and work 8 cm rib. Change to circular needle size 3.5 mm and continue in stocking st and pattern, at the same time inc 16-30 sts evenly on first round = 252-276 sts.
Remember the knitting tension!
When piece measures 30-30 cm divide the piece in 2 and complete front and back pieces separately, back and forth on needle. If cutting for armhole cast on 6 sts each side (to be cut afterwards and not included in pattern) and continue in the round.
Front piece: = 126-138 sts. Continue in pattern.
When piece measures 60-62 cm – adjust to the last pattern row – slip the middle 58-60 sts on a stitch holder for neck and cast off remaining sts on each shoulder.
Back piece: Like front piece.
If cutting for armhole: Continue in the round. Continue in pattern and slip the middle 58-60 sts on front and back piece as described above. Cast off remaining sts on shoulder.
Sleeve: Cast on 50-54 sts on double pointed needles size 2.5 mm with dark steel blue and work 5 cm rib. Change to double pointed needles size 3.5 mm and continue in stocking st and pattern, at the same time inc 15-13 sts evenly on first round = 65-67 sts. Inc 2 sts mid under arm a total of 34-37 times on every 4th round for size S/M and on every * 3rd and 4th * round alternately for size M/L = 133-141 sts. Cast off all sts when piece measures 49-47 cm. If cutting for armhole, work 2 cm in reverse stocking st before casting off (for sewing sleeve to body piece).
Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Slip sts from stitch holders on front and back piece on needle size 3.5 mm and work 4 rounds stocking st in turquoise, P 1 round, 4 rounds stocking st, cast off and fold edge double towards WS and fasten. Set in sleeves.
If cutting for armhole:
Insert a marking thread in the middle of the inc sts for armhole. Sew 2 seams on a sewing machine around the marking thread, 1st seam = ½ st from the marking thread, 2nd seam = ½ st from the 1st seam. Cut for armholes.
Set in sleeves as follows: sew the last row in stocking st on sleeves to row after machine seam on armhole. Turn jumper inside out and fasten piece in reverse stocking st on sleeve to body piece.
