DROPS circular needle and double pointed needles size 2.5 and 4 mm - or size needed to obtain 20 sts x 26 rows in pattern on needle size 4 mm = 10 x 10 cm.

Pattern: See diagram below. The diagram shows the pattern from the RS and the entire pattern is worked in stocking st. English translations for the wording in diagrams are given at the bottom of this pattern in the same vertical order in which they appear in the diagram. Rib: See diagram below or use these explanations if working without cable needle.

Explanation 1: work over 2 sts. Knit second st on needle but don't slip it off the needle, purl first st and slip both sts off needle.
Explanation 2: work over 2 sts. Purl second stitch on needle into the back of the stitch, but don't slip it off the needle. Knit first st and slip both sts off needle.
This is a very simple technique when you have done it a few times.

Rib: See below.

Body: The jumper is worked in the round on circular needle and cut for armholes afterwards. Cast on 208-208-208 sts on circular needle size 2.5 mm with off-white and work 6 cm rib. Change to circular needle size 4 mm and continue in stocking st, at the same time inc 20-32-44 sts evenly on first round = 228-240-252 sts. When piece measures 9-9-10 cm work pattern as follows: M.4, M.1, M.2, M.5 (beg by arrow and work pattern on front piece, beg by arrow again and repeat pattern on back piece), M.4, M.1, M.6, M.5 and then complete piece in blue. Remember the knitting tension! At the same time when piece measures 32-32-34 cm inc 5 sts each side (to be cut for armhole afterwards and not included in pattern). When piece measures 58-58-60 cm cast off the middle 40-40-40 sts mid front for neck and complete piece back and forth on needle. Cast off to shape the neckline on every other row: 2 sts 1 time, 1 st 2 times. When piece measures 61-61-63 cm cast off the middle 46-46-46 sts for neck mid back and cast off 1 st on neckline on next row. Cast off remaining sts when piece measures 62-62-64 cm.
Sleeve: Cast on 52-52-52 sts on double pointed needles size 2.5 mm with off-white and work 6 cm rib. Change to double pointed needles size 4 mm and continue in stocking st, at the same time inc 6-8-8 sts evenly on first round = 58-60-60 sts. At the same time after the rib inc 2 sts mid under arm a total of 31-31-31 times on every *3rd and 4th * round alternately = 120-122-122 sts. At the same time when piece measures 9-9-9 cm continue in pattern as follows (place a pattern repeat mid upper sleeve): the last 2 rows of M.1, M.2, M.5, M.3, M.4, M.1, M.6, M.5 and then complete piece in blue. When piece measures 50-50-50 cm work 2 cm in reverse stocking st (for sewing sleeve to body piece). Cast off.

Assembly: Insert a marking thread in the middle of the inc sts for armhole. Sew 2 seams on a sewing machine around the marking thread, 1st seam = ½ st from the MT, 2nd seam = ½ st from the 1st seam. Cut for armholes. Sew the shoulder seams. Pick up approx 106 sts round the neck on circular needle size 2.5 mm with blue, work 2 cm stocking st, change to of-white, K 1 round, * K2 tog, YO * repeat *-* the entire round, 2 cm stocking st, cast off. Fold edge double towards WS and fasten. Set in sleeves as follows: sew the last row in stocking st on sleeves to row after machine seam on armhole. Turn jumper inside out and fasten piece in reverse stocking st on sleeve to body piece.
