DROPS circular and double pointed needles size 3.5 and 5 mm - or size needed to obtain 17 sts x 23 rows in stocking st on needle size 5 mm = 10 x 10 cm.

Pattern: See diagram M1 to M.3. The diagram shows the pattern from the RS.
Rib: *K2, P2*, repeat from *-*.

Front and back piece: Worked in the round on circular needle. Cast on 164-172 sts on needle size 3.5 mm with navy blue and work 6 cm Rib. Change to needle size 5 mm and continue in stocking st, at the same time inc 44-48 sts evenly on first round = 208-220 sts. Remember the knitting tension! When piece measures 11-13 cm work M.1 (beg by arrow and work pattern on front piece, beg by arrow again and work pattern on back piece), then M.2 (beg by arrow and work pattern on front piece, beg by arrow again and work pattern on back piece). Now divide the piece in two and complete each piece separately (divided before armhole, so cast on 1 new st each side for seam).

Front piece: = 106-112 sts. Work M.3 over the middle 66 sts - continue row 5, 6 and 7 (the waves) and the main colour across the row. At the same time when piece measures 34-36 cm cast off 1 st each side for armhole. After M.3 work M.1, but work the diagram from top down, and then complete piece in navy blue. When piece measures 59-61 cm cast off the middle 28-28 sts for neck and dec to shape the neckline on every other row: 2 sts 1 time, 1 st 2 times. Cast off remaining sts when piece measures 64-66 cm.

Back piece: 106-112 sts. Work 4 rows turquoise, then row 5, 6 and 7 of M.3 as on front piece, and then 42 rows blue. At the same time when piece measures 34-36 cm cast off 1 st each side for armhole. Continue in M.1, but work the diagram from top down, and then complete piece in navy blue. When piece measures 63-65 cm cast off the middle 36-36 sts for neck and dec 2 sts on neckline on next row. Cast off remaining sts on shoulder when piece measures 64-66 cm.

Sleeve: Worked in the round on double pointed needles. Cast on 40-44 sts on double pointed needle size 3.5 mm with navy blue and work 5 cm Rib. Change to needle size 5 mm and continue in stocking st, at the same time inc 10-6 sts evenly on first round = 50-50 sts. At the same time after the Rib inc 2 sts mid under arm on every * 3rd and 4th * round alternately a total of 27-27 times = 104-104 sts. When piece measures 47-46 cm work M.1 and then complete piece in navy blue. Cast off when piece measures 54-53 cm.

Assembly: Sew shoulder and side seams. Pick up 100 sts round neckline on double pointed needles size 3.5 mm with navy blue and work 2.5 cm Rib, at the same time dec 4 sts evenly on neckline on back piece on first round. After the Rib, change to blue, work 1 round and cast off. Set in sleeves.
