Drops sweater with large cables in “Vienna”. Long or short version.

Size: Small/Medium (Medium/Large)

Materials: Drops Vienna from Garnstudio
600 (650) g in col no 51, olive

Drops needles size: 4mm and 6mm
Drops circ needle size: 4mm (for neck band)
or the size needed to obtain the correct knitting tension.
Cable needle

Knitting Tension: M.1 = approx 11cm wide. 14sts x 17 rows on needle size 6mm in M.3 = 10x10cm.

Short version: Dec measurements on body from edge to arm hole, neck and cast off edge by 9 (10) cm. Yarn requirement is reduced by 50 (100) g.

Pattern: See diagram (1 diagram = 1 repeat). Pattern is seen from RS.

Front: Cast on 80 (90) sts on needle size 4mm with olive. Work 6cm in M.2. Change to needle size 6mmm, and at the same time inc 22 (24) sts evenly on 1st row = 102 (114) sts. Work next row as follows: 6 (2) sts in M.3, 90 (110) sts in M.1, 6 (2) sts in M.3. Remember to check your tension. Continue in pattern until piece measures 64 (67) cm. Cast off centre 26 (26) sts for neck, then dec on neck edge every other row as follows: 3 sts once, 2 sts twice, 1 st once. Continue until piece measures 69 (72) cm. Cast off.

Back: = Cast on and work as front until piece measures 67 (70) cm. Cast off centre 38 (38) sts for neck. Next row: dec 2 sts each side of neck.
Continue until piece measures 69 (72) cm. Cast off.

Sleeves: Cast on 40 (40) sts on needles size 4mm with olive. Work 6cm in M.2. Change needles size 6mm and at the same time inc 8 (8) sts evenly on 1 st row = 48 (48) sts. Work 1st row as follows: 9 (9) sts in M.3, 30 sts in M.1, 9 (9) sts in M.3. Continue in pattern and at the same time inc each side on every 3rd row as follows: 1 st 21 (21) times = 90 (90) sts. – work inc sts into the M.3 pattern. Continue until piece measures 46 (46) cm. Dec each side on every other row as follows: 5 sts once, 8 sts twice. Work measures 49 (49) cm. Cast off.

Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Pick up approx 100 sts around neck on circ needle size 4mm with olive. Work 9 cm in M.2. Cast off loosely. Sew sleeve and side seams in edge stitch to avoid seam being to bulky.
