Drops sweater with star repeat pattern in “Alaska”.

Size: Small /medium (Medium/large)

Materials: DROPS Alaska from Garnstudio
700 (700) g col no 43, coral
350 (400) g col no 2, cream

DROPS circular needle, long (80cm): 3.5mm and 5mm
DROPS double pointed needles: 3,5mm and 5mm
DROPS circ needle size 4mm (for neckband), or the size needed to obtain the correct knitting tension.

Knitting Tension: 17sts x 21 rows in stocking st on needles size 5mm = 10x10cm.

Rib: *K2, P2*

Pattern: See diagram (1 diagram = 1 repeat). Pattern is read from right to left, and is seen from RS and is worked in stocking st.

Back and Front is knitted as one piece in the round, then divided at armhole and back and front knitted separately.

Body:
Cast on 164 (172) sts on long circ needle size 3.5mm with coral. Work 5 cm rib. Change to circ needle size 5mm and stocking st, and at the same time inc 28 (44) sts evenly on first round = 192 (216) sts. When piece measures 6 (9) cm, work M.1. Remember to check your tension.
Continue until piece measures 43 (46) cm. Divide work and finish back and front separately, making sure to centre I repeat on front.

Front: = 96 (108) sts. Continue until piece measures 67 (70) cm (adjust to M.1.). Work M.2, and at the same time cast off centre 32 (32) sts for neck. Decrease at neck edge on every other row as follows: 2 sts once, 1 st twice. Complete M.2 and finish in coral. Continue until piece measures 73 (76) cm. Cast off.

Back: = 96 (108) sts. Continue in pattern as front until piece measures 71 (74) cm. Cast off centre 38 (38) sts for neck. Next row: dec 1sts each side at neck edge. Continue until piece measures 73 (76) cm. Cast off.

Sleeve:
Cast on 36 (36) sts on double pointed needles size 3.5mm with coral. Work 5cm rib. Change to double pointed needles size 5mm and work M.2 (center 1 repeat of each pattern on top of sleeve) and at the same time inc 14 (14) sts evenly on first round = 50 (50) sts.
Next inc underneath sleeve each side of center st as follows: 1 st on every 3rd round 26 (26) times = 102 (102) sts.
Complete M.2, then work M.1. Continue until piece measures 47 (46) cm. Cast off 8 sts centrally underneath sleeve and finish working back and forth on needle. Dec each side on every other row as follows: 6 sts twice.
Cast off when piece measures 50 (49) cm.

Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Pick up approx 100 sts around neck on circ needle size 4mm with coral. Work 14cm in rib, then 1 round with cream. Cast off with cream. Sew sleeves to body in edge st to avoid seams being too bulky.
