DROPS DOUBLE POINTED NEEDLES SIZE 6 MM.
The technique MAGIC LOOP can be used – you then only need 80 cm circular needle in each size.

KNITTING TENSION:
11 stitches in width and 14 rows in height with stocking stitch on needle size 8 mm = 10 x 10 cm.
REMEMBER: The needle size is only a guide. If you get too many stitches on 10 cm, change to a larger needle size. If you get too few stitches on 10 cm, change to a smaller needle size.

EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN:

-------------------------------------------------------

RAGLAN:
Increase 1 stitch by making 1 yarn over, which is worked as follows on the next round:
BEFORE RAGLAN-STITCH (yarn over twists to the right):
Slip the yarn-over purl-wise from the left to the right needle, place it back onto the left needle by inserting the left needle through the back (the yarn over is now the other way round). Knit through the stitch loop that lies on the front of the needle (avoids a hole).
AFTER RAGLAN-STITCH (yarn over twists to the left):
Knit through the stitch loop that lies on the back of the needle (avoids a hole).

SLEEVE TIP:
When knitting up stitches under the sleeve, you can be left with a small hole in the transition between the stitches on the body and sleeve. This hole can be closed by picking up the strand between 2 stitches and working this strand twisted together with the first stitch between body and sleeve.

DECREASE TIP:
Decrease 1 stitch on each side of the marker-thread as follows:
Work until there are 3 stitches left before the marker-thread, knit 2 together, knit 2 (marker-thread sits between these 2 stitches), slip 1 stitch knit-wise, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch (2 stitches decreased).

START THE PIECE HERE:

-------------------------------------------------------

JUMPER – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE:
The pattern uses both long and short needles; start with the length which fits the number of stitches and change when necessary.
The neck and yoke are worked in the round with circular needle, top down and from the right back shoulder, increasing for raglan. When the yoke is finished, it is divided for the body and sleeves and the body is continued in the round, while the sleeves wait. The sleeves are worked top down, in the round.

NECK:
Cast on 56-56-60-64-68-72-72 stitches with circular needle size 6 mm and DROPS Snow or DROPS Andes. Work rib (knit 1 and purl 1) in the round for 6-6-6-6-7-7-7 cm.
Insert 1 marker after the first 20-20-21-22-23-24-24 stitches (approx. mid-front), the piece is now measured from here.

YOKE:
Change to circular needle size 8 mm. Insert 4 markers, without working the stitches and inserting each marker in a stitch (the raglan-stitches); you increase for raglan on each side of them.

Insert marker-1 in the first stitch, count 11 stitches (= sleeve),
insert marker-2 in the next stitch, count 15-15-17-19-21-23-23 stitches (= front piece),
insert marker-3 in the next stitch, count 11 stitches (= sleeve),
insert marker-4 in the next stitch, there are 15-15-17-19-21-23-23 stitches left (= back piece).
Work stocking stitch in the round and increase for RAGLAN on each side of the raglan-stitches – read explanation above for how to increase, as follows.

ROUND 1: Knit and increase for raglan on each side of the raglan-stitches (8 increased stitches). NOTE: At the beginning of the round increase after marker-stitch-1 and at the end of the round increase before marker-stitch-1. Make sure each round begins with the raglan-stitch.
ROUND 2: Knit (work yarn overs as described in RAGLAN).
Work ROUNDS 1 and 2 a total of 3-4-7-6-8-8-7 times (6-8-14-12-16-16-14 rounds worked) = 80-88-116-112-132-136-128 stitches. Remember to maintain the knitting tension.

Now increase as follows:
ROUND 1: Knit and increase for raglan on each side of the raglan-stitches (8 increased stitches).
ROUND 2: Knit.
ROUND 3: Knit and increase for raglan on the front and back pieces, i.e., after marker-stitches 2 and 4 and before marker-stitches 3 and 1; do not increase on the sleeves (4 increased stitches).
ROUND 4: Knit.
Work ROUNDS 1 to 4 a total of 7-7-6-7-6-7-8 times (28-28-24-28-24-28-32 rounds worked: 10-11-13-13-14-15-15 increases in height on the sleeves and 17-18-19-20-20-22-23 increases in height on the front and back pieces) = 164-172-188-196-204-220-224 stitches.

All increases for raglan are finished: 51-53-57-61-63-69-71 stitches on the front and back pieces and 31-33-37-37-39-41-41 stitches on the sleeves. Continue stocking stitch without further increases, until the yoke measures 24-26-27-28-28-31-33 cm from the marker mid-front. Now divide for the body and sleeves; remember the round begins before the first raglan-stitch.

DIVIDE FOR BODY AND SLEEVES
Knit and keep the first stitch on the needle (belongs to the back piece), place the next 31-33-37-37-39-41-41 stitches on a stitch holder for the sleeve, cast on 4-6-6-8-10-12-14 stitches (mid-under the sleeve), knit 51-53-57-61-63-69-71 stitches (front piece), place the next 31-33-37-37-39-41-41 stitches on a stitch holder for the sleeve, cast on 4-6-6-8-10-12-14 stitches (mid-under the sleeve), knit the last 50-52-56-60-62-68-70 stitches (back piece has 51-53-57-61-63-69-71 stitches). The body and sleeves are finished separately.

BODY:
= 110-118-126-138-146-162-170 stitches.
Continue stocking stitch until the piece measures 51-53-55-57-58-60-62 cm from the marker mid-front.
Change to circular needle size 6 mm. Work rib (knit 1 and purl 1), AT THE SAME TIME increase 12-14-14-18-18-22-22 stitches evenly on the first round = 122-132-140-156-164-184-192 stitches. When the rib measures 4-4-4-4-5-5-5 cm, cast off slightly loosely with rib. The jumper measures approx. 55-57-59-61-63-65-67 cm from the marker mid-front and 60-62-64-66-68-70-72 cm from the shoulder.

SLEEVES:
Place the 31-33-37-37-39-41-41 sleeve-stitches from one stitch holder onto circular needle size 8 mm and knit up 1 stitch in each of the 4-6-6-8-10-12-14 cast-on stitches under the sleeve – read SLEEVE TIP = 35-39-43-45-49-53-55 stitches. Insert a marker-thread in the middle of the new stitches under the sleeve.
Work stocking stitch in the round.
AT THE SAME TIME, when the sleeve measures 1 cm from the division, decrease mid-under the sleeve – read DECREASE TIP as follows: Decrease 2 stitches every 4-4-3½-3½-3½-3½-3½ cm 2-4-5-6-7-9-9 times = 31-31-33-33-35-35-37 stitches.
Continue working until the sleeve measures 47-46-45-44-44-41-40 cm from the division.
Change to double pointed needles size 6 mm. Work rib (knit 1 and purl 1), AT THE SAME TIME increase 3-3-3-3-5-5-7 stitches evenly on the first round = 34-34-36-36-40-40-44 stitches.
When the rib measures 4-4-4-4-5-5-5 cm, cast off slightly loosely with rib. The sleeve measures approx. 51-50-49-48-49-46-45 cm from the division.
