EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN:
----------------------------------------------------------
PATTERN:
See diagrams A.1 to A.12.
STRIPES:
From 4th row in A.3 work stripes as follows: * 1 round in colour Dandelion, 3 rounds in colour Off White *, work from *-*.
CHAIN STITCH:
If you work at the back of the crochet hook the chain stitch will often be too tight.
1 chain stitch should be just as long as 1 treble crochet is wide.
SIZE TIP:
The size of the garment can be adjusted by working fewer/more rounds on the jacket before the piece is divided for shoulder, or fewer/more round with edge around the jacket before edge mid back is worked. Note that any adjustments will affect sleeve width, length of body and sleeves and yarn usage.

JACKET - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE:
Worked in 2 parts. First work in the round according to diagram from mid under sleeve. The piece has 6 sides (= hexagon but the piece is not flat as it looks like on diagram A.4), fold the piece so that 2 of the sides are sewn together for shoulder, 1 of the sides will be sleeve opening and along the remaining 3 sides continue to work to give more length and width on the jacket. Work 2 parts like this (= 2 hexagons). Then work back and forth along 1 side on each part, this will be mid back on jacket. Sew the parts together mid back and work 2 ties that are fastened on each side of mid front on jacket.
PART 1:
Use hook size 3 mm and colour Off White in DROPS Belle. Crochet diagram A.1.
Then work as follows: Work A.2 (shows beginning and end of round), work A.3 around every chain space (= 6 times on round) - AT THE SAME TIME on 4th round in A.3 work STRIPES - read explanation above.
As you work the piece will get six sides.
When diagrams are done, continue the same way - there will be one treble crochet group more between every increase for every round worked.
Work until piece measures 18-18-20-20-24-24-26 cm vertically measured in the middle of a repetition of A.3 (do not measure along the increase). Read SIZE TIP in explanation above.
The piece has six sides, see diagram A.4 that shows the sides - the piece is not flat as the diagram shows. Each side is marked with a number that is used in explanations onwards.
ASSEMBLY:
Fold the piece so that the sides are on top of each other as shown in A.5, make sure that the right side is up. Side 1 is on top of side 3 (= shoulder), side 6 is on top of side 4 (= towards mid front/back), side 2 and 5 are folded in the middle, side 2 (= sleeve edge) and side 5 (= bottom edge). A.6 shows the piece from the other side.
Use the same colour as last round to sew together side 1 and side 3 - sew stitch to stitch and sew to make the seam nice and flat. Cut and fasten the yarn.
EDGE AROUND THE JACKET:
Now work in the round along side 4, 5 and 6 to give the garment more length and width in towards mid front/back - continue the stripes as before and work as follows:
Fasten strand in chain spaces at the shoulder seam and begin working from the right side as follows:
Work A.7 (shows beginning and end of round), * work A.8 around every chain stitch until the corner, work A.9 around chain space in the corner *, work from *-* 1 more time and work A.8 until beginning of round. Continue like this for 4-6-4-6-4-6-4 cm – adjust the stripes so that last round is in the colour Off White. Piece measures approx. 22-24-24-26-26-28-28 cm from beginning of piece (do not measure along the increase).
Jacket measures approx. 40-42-44-46-50-52-54 cm measured from shoulder seam to bottom edge.
PART 2:
Work the same way as part 1.
EDGE MID BACK:
Now work back and forth on each part separately. See diagram A.5 and A.6 which show what the parts look like, work along side 6 on one part and along side 4 on the other part (edge begins from the right side on one part and from the wrong side on the other part).
Use hook size 3 mm and colour Off White. Begin in first chain stitch after shoulder seam at the top by the shoulder (edge begins from the right side along side 4 and from the wrong side along side 6), and work back and forth as follows:
ROW 1: Work A.10, work A.11 until corner and work A.12. Turn piece.
ROW 2: Work A.12, work A.11 until 1 stitch remains and work A.10. Turn piece.
Work like this for 3-3-4-4-5-5-6 cm. Piece measures approx. 25-27-28-30-31-33-34 cm vertically from beginning of piece and until mid back.
Cut and fasten the yarn.
Work edge mid back the same way on the other part.
ASSEMBLY:
Use the colour Off White and sew side 6 and side 4 together mid back, sew stitch to stitch – sew to make the seam nice and flat. Cut and fasten the yarn.
TIES:
Use hook size 3 mm and colour Off White. Work a row with chain stitches that measures approx. 65 cm and then work 1 double crochet in every chain stitches the entire row. Cut and fasten the yarn.
Work another tie the same way.
Fasten 1 tie in each side mid front as follows: Fold the tie double, there is a loop in one end. Thread the loop through the edge mid front, then thread both ends of tie in through the loop and tighten so that the loop closes. Repeat at the other tie.
