Width: 28 cm. Length: 146 cm.
YARN:
DROPS BABY MERINO from Garnstudio (belongs to yarn group A)
100 g colour 103, Birthday Confetti
And use:
DROPS KID-SILK from Garnstudio (belongs to yarn group A)
50 g colour 56, Marzipan
NEEDLES:
DROPS CIRCULAR NEEDLE SIZE 4 MM: Length 60 cm.
KNITTING TENSION:
19 stitches in width and 38 rows in height with garter stitch and 1 strand of each quality on needle size 4 mm = 10 x 10 cm.
NOTE: Remember, the needle size is only a guide. If you get too many stitches on 10 cm, change to a larger needle size. If you get to few stitches on 10 cm, change to a smaller needle size.

EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN:

GARTER STITCH:
All rows knitted.
1 ridge = 2 knitted rows.
INCREASE TIP:
Knit 2 stitches in the same stitch (through both the front and back loops) = 1 increased stitch.

SHAWL - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE:
The piece is worked diagonally in garter stitch while increasing and decreasing in the sides.
SHAWL:
Cast on 5 stitches with circular needle size 4 mm, 1 strand DROPS Baby Merino and 1 strand DROPS Kid-Silk (2 strands). The piece is worked in GARTER STITCH – see explanation above.
Knit 1 row from the wrong side, then work as follows:
ROW 1 (right side):
Knit 2 together (1 decreased stitch), knit until there is 1 stitch left, knit 2 stitches in the last stitch – read INCREASE TIP above, (1 increased stitch). Stitch count unchanged.
ROW 2 (wrong side):
Knit 2 in first stitch, knit to end of row. 1 increased stitch.
ROW 3 (right side):
Knit 2 together (1 decreased stitch), knit until there is 1 stitch left, knit 2 in the last stitch (= 1 increased stitch). Stitch count unchanged.
ROW 4 (wrong side):
Knit 2 in first stitch, knit to end of row. 1 increased stitch. Remember to maintain the knitting tension.
Work ROWS 3 and 4 onwards, increasing 1 stitch every 2nd row, until the piece measures 28 cm measured across the widest part (approx. 119 stitches and 114 ridges). Or work to desired width and length, making sure you have enough yarn to cast off with.
Cast off a little loosely. It is important that the cast-off edge is not tight.
