EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN:

-------------------------------------------------------

RAGLAN:
Increase 1 stitch by making 1 yarn over, which is worked as follows on the next round:
BEFORE RAGLAN-STITCH (yarn-over twists to the right):
Slip the yarn-over purl-wise from the left to the right needle, place it back onto the left needle by inserting the left needle through the back (the yarn-over is now the other way round). Knit through the stitch loop that lies on the front of the needle (avoids a hole).
AFTER RAGLAN-STITCH (yarn-over twists to the left):
Knit through the stitch loop that lies on the back of the needle (avoids a hole).

SLEEVE TIP:
When knitting up stitches under the sleeve, you can get a small hole in the transition between stitches on the body and sleeve. This hole can be closed by picking up the strand between 2 stitches and working this strand twisted together with the first stitch between body and sleeve.

DECREASE TIP:
Decrease 1 stitch on each side of the marker-thread as follows:
Work until there are 3 stitches left before the marker-thread, knit 2 together, knit 2 (marker-thread sits between these 2 stitches), slip 1 stitch knit-wise, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch (2 stitches decreased).

START THE PIECE HERE:

-------------------------------------------------------

JUMPER – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE:
The pattern uses both long and short needles; start with the length which fits the number of stitches and change when necessary.
The neck and yoke are worked in the round with circular needle top down, from the right back shoulder while increasing for raglan. When the yoke is finished, it is divided for the body and sleeves and the body continued in the round, while the sleeves wait. The sleeves are worked top down in the round.
If there is a «0» in your chosen size, skip the information and go straight to the next instruction.

NECK:
Cast on 84-88-92-92-96-100-104 stitches with circular needle size 3.5 mm and 2 strands DROPS Kid-Silk or 1 strand DROPS Brushed Alpaca Silk.
Knit 3 rounds, then work 4 rounds of rib (knit 1, purl 1).
The round begins on the right back shoulder. Insert 1 marker after the first 26-27-28-28-29-30-31 stitches (approx. mid-front). The piece is measured from here.

YOKE:
Change to circular needle size 4.5 mm. Insert 4 markers as follows, without working the stitches and each marker inserted into a stitch (raglan-stitches). You increase for raglan on each side of the raglan-stitches.

Insert marker-1 in the first stitch, count 9 stitches (= sleeve),
insert marker-2 in the next stitch, count 31-33-35-35-37-39-41 stitches (= front piece),
insert marker-3 in the next stitch, count 9 stitches (= sleeve),
insert marker-4 in the next stitch, there are 31-33-35-35-37-39-41 stitches left after the last marker (= back piece).

Work stocking stitch in the round and increase for RAGLAN on each side of the raglan-stitches as follows – read the explanation above describing how to increase:
ROUND 1: Knit and increase for raglan on each side of the raglan-stitches (8 increased stitches). NOTE: At the beginning of the round, increase after raglan-stitch-1, at the end of the round increase before raglan-stitch-1.
ROUND 2: Knit. Remember to work the yarn overs as described under RAGLAN.
Work ROUNDS 1 and 2 a total of 16-19-22-22-24-23-22 times (32-38-44-44-48-46-44 rounds worked) = 212-240-268-268-288-284-280 stitches. Remember to maintain the knitting tension.

Now increase as follows:
ROUND 1: Knit and increase for raglan on each side of the raglan-stitches (8 increased stitches).
ROUND 2: Knit. Remember to work the yarn overs as described under raglan.
ROUND 3: Knit and increase for raglan only on the front and back pieces, i.e., after markers 2 and 4 and before markers 1 and 3; do not increase on the sleeves (4 increased stitches).
ROUND 4: Knit. Remember to work the yarn overs as described under raglan.
Work ROUNDS 1 to 4 a total of 5-5-4-6-6-9-11 times (20-20-16-24-24-36-44 rounds worked: 5-5-4-6-6-9-11 increases in height on the sleeves and 10-10-8-12-12-18-22 increases in height on the front and back pieces = 272-300-316-340-360-392-412 stitches.

All increases for raglan are finished: A total of 26-29-30-34-36-41-44 increases in height on the front and back pieces and 21-24-26-28-30-32-33 increases in height on the sleeves. Continue working without further increases until the yoke measures 22-24-25-29-30-34-37 cm from the marker mid-front. Now divide for the body and sleeves.

DIVIDE FOR BODY AND SLEEVES:
Knit and keep the first stitch on the needle (belongs to the back piece), place the next 51-57-61-65-69-73-75 stitches on a stitch holder for the sleeve, cast on 6-6-8-8-10-10-12 stitches (= mid-under the sleeve), knit 85-93-97-105-111-123-131 (= front piece), place the next 51-57-61-65-69-73-75 stitches on a stitch holder for the sleeve, cast on 6-6-8-8-10-10-12 stitches (= mid-under the sleeve), knit the last 84-92-96-104-110-122-130 stitches (= back piece). The body and sleeves are finished separately.

BODY:
= 182-198-210-226-242-266-286 stitches. Insert 1 marker in the middle of the 6-6-8-8-10-10-12 cast-on stitches under one sleeve. The round starts by the marker.
Work stocking stitch in the round until the piece measures 48-50-52-54-55-57-59 cm from the marker mid-front.
Change to circular needle size 3.5 mm. Work rib (knit 1, purl 1), AT THE SAME TIME increase 18-20-22-22-26-26-32 stitches evenly on the first round = 200-218-232-248-268-292-318 stitches. When the rib measures 3-3-3-3-4-4-4 cm, cast off slightly loosely. The jumper measures approx. 51-53-55-57-59-61-63 cm from the marker mid-front and 54-56-58-60-62-64-66 cm from the shoulder.

SLEEVES:
Place the 51-57-61-65-69-73-75 sleeve-stitches from one stitch holder onto circular needle size 4.5 mm and knit up 1 stitch in each of the 6-6-8-8-10-10-12 stitches cast on under the sleeve – read SLEEVE TIP = 57-63-69-73-79-83-87 stitches. Insert a marker-thread in the middle of the 6-6-8-8-10-10-12 stitches under the sleeve. The round starts by the marker-thread.
Work stocking stitch in the round.
AT THE SAME TIME, on the first round after dividing, decrease mid-under the sleeve – read DECREASE TIP, as follows: Decrease 2 stitches 2 times every 2nd round, then decrease 2 stitches 0-1-3-4-7-8-9 times every 0-3-3-3-2-2-2 cm = 53-57-59-61-61-63-65 stitches.
Continue working until the sleeve measures 39-38-37-34-32-29-26 cm from the division.
Change to double pointed needles size 3.5 mm. Work rib (knit 1, purl 1), AT THE SAME TIME increase 7-7-7-7-9-9-9 stitches evenly on the first round = 60-64-66-68-70-72-74 stitches.
When the rib measures 3-3-3-3-4-4-4 cm, cast off slightly loosely. The sleeve measures approx. 42-41-40-37-36-33-30 cm from the division.
