DROPS AIR from Garnstudio (belongs to yarn group C)
400 g colour 55, Light Beige
100 g colour 17, Denim Blue
100 g colour 02, Wheat

If you wish to work the blanket with one colour, you will need 550 g DROPS Air.

CROCHET HOOKS:
DROPS CROCHET HOOK SIZE 5.5 MM.

CROCHET TENSION:
13 treble crochets in width and 8 rows in height with hook size 5.5 mm = 10 x 10 cm.
1 square measures approx. 12½ x 12½ cm.
Hook size is only a guide. If you get too many stitches within 10 cm, change to a larger hook size. If you get too few stitches within 10 cm, change to a smaller hook size.

PATTERN:

COLOUR CHANGE:
When changing colours, it is neatest if the last slip stitch on the round is worked with the new colour.

COLOURS:
CAST ON + ROUND 1: Colour 55, Light Beige
ROUND 2: colour 02, Wheat
ROUND 3: colour 17, Denim Blue
ROUNDS 4 and 5: colour 55, Light Beige

BLANKET – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE:
The piece is worked in Granny squares, each worked separately in the round from the right side. The squares are crocheted together and an edge worked around the blanket to finish.

SQUARES:
Use crochet hook size 5.5 mm and DROPS Air. Read COLOUR CHANGE and COLOURS, work squares according to diagram A.1. Remember to maintain the crochet tension. Work 70 squares.

ASSEMBLY:
Lay out the squares, with 7 squares in width and 10 squares in length, making sure all squares are right side up.
Work the squares together in width first.
Use crochet hook size 5.5 mm and colour Light Beige:
Lay 2 squares edge to edge. Start in one corner, * insert the hook from the right side and down through the back loop of one square, then insert the hook from the right side and down through the back loop of the second square, pick up the strand and pull it through both loops on the hook *, work from *-* as far as the next corner, work 1 chain stitch, continue from *-* along the next 2 squares. Work like this until all the squares in the row are worked together. Cut and fasten the strand. Work all rows together, then work all the rows together length-wise in the same way.

EDGE:
Use crochet hook size 5.5 mm and colour Light Beige.
ROUND 1: Work according to diagram A.1. Start the round in the middle of one square, work 3 treble crochets and 1 chain stitch around each chain stitch along each square, in addition work 3 treble crochets and 1 chain stitch around the corners in each transition between squares. On the squares in the corners of the blanket, work 3 treble crochets, 3 chain stitches, 3 treble crochets and 1 chain stitch.
Work this round 3 times around the blanket. Cut and fasten the strand.
