CROCHET TENSION:
28 treble crochets in width and 16 rows vertically on hook size 2.5 = 10 x 10 cm.
28 double crochets in width and 35 rows vertically on hook size 2.5 = 10 x 10 cm.
REMEMBER: Remember that the hook size is only a suggestion. If you have too many stitches on 10 cm switch to larger sized hook or if you get too few stitches on 10 cm switch to smaller sized hook.

GINGERBREAD HOUSE – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE:
Piece is crocheted in the round according to diagram, button up - so that the house is double. Then crochet an edge with strap along the roof.

GINGERBREAD HOUSE:
Work 26 chain stitches on hook size 2.5 mm with DROPS Safran in colour Coffee/Almond/Red, and form a ring with 1 slip stitch in first chain stitch. Work as shown in diagram A.1, begin on round marked with arrow. Fasten off when A.1 has been worked.

CROCHET EDGE:
Use colour Off White - begin on first row with double crochets after windows - see star in diagram and fasten yarn with a slip stitch in first chain stitch in the side on house, * work 3 chain stitches and 1 treble crochet in first chain stitch (= picot), skip 1 row with double crochets, work 1 double crochet in outermost stitch along the side on house *, work from *-* so that there are 4 picots up along one side, work last double crochet at the top of house. Work 30 chain stitches for strap, work 1 slip stitch in double crochet at the top of house, * work 3 chain stitches and 1 treble crochet in first chain stitch (= picot), skip 1 row with double crochet, work 1 double crochet in outermost stitch along the side on house *, work from *-* so that there are 4 picots along one side on house. Cut and fasten the yarn.
