NEEDLES:
DROPS CIRCULAR NEEDLE SIZE 10 mm: Length: 60 cm
KNITTING TENSION:
8 stitches in width and 18 rows vertically in English rib on needle size 10 mm = 10 x 10 cm.
9 stitches in width and 12 rows vertically in stocking stitch on needle size 10 mm = 10 x 10 cm.
REMEMBER: Remember that needle size is only a suggestion. If you have too many stitches on 10 cm switch to larger sized needles or if you get too few stitches on 10 cm switch to smaller sized needles.

EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN:

ENGLISH RIB:
ROW 1 (= right side): Knit 1, * knit 1, make 1 yarn over, slip 1 stitch purlwise *, work from *-* until 2 stitches remain, finish with 2 knit stitches.
ROW 2 (= wrong side): Knit 1, * make 1 yarn over, slip 1 stitch purlwise, knit yarn over and slipped stitch together *, repeat from *-* until 2 stitches remain, finish with 1 yarn over, slip 1 stitch purlwise and knit 1.
ROW 3 (= right side): Knit 1, * knit yarn over and slipped stitch together, make 1 yarn over, slip 1 stitch purlwise*, work from *-* until 1 yarn over and 2 stitches remain, knit yarn over and slipped stitch together, and knit 1.
Repeat ROWS 2 and 3.

START THE PIECE HERE:

HEAD BAND – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE:
Work head band back and forth in English rib, sew piece together mid back when finished.
HEAD BAND:
Cast on 11 stitches on circular needle size 10 mm with DROPS Polaris.
Purl 1 row from wrong side.
Work back and forth in ENGLISH RIB - read explanation above.
Work until piece measures approx. 47-50-53 cm - adjust so that next row is from right side. Knit 1 row while AT THE SAME TIME casting off (work yarn overs together with stitch they belong to). Cut the yarn.
ASSEMBLY:
Sew cast-off edge to cast-on edge - use grafting/kitchener stitches and sew from right side to get a nice and flat seam.
