DROPS Jacket in Bomull-lin and Muskat with edges and flowers

500 (500-550) g colour no 3, beige
and use: DROPS Muskat.
100 (100-100) g colour no 41, wine red
50 (100-100) g colour no 21, rust
50 ( 50- 50) g colour no 35, yellow
50 ( 50- 50) g colour no 45, green

DROPS circular needles and double pointed needles sizes 3 mm and 4 mm
DROPS mother-of-pearl buttons no 522: 5 pcs.

Knitting tension: 20 sts x 26 rows on needle size 4 mm and pattern = 10 x 10 cm. Remember needle sizes are guidelines only!
Pattern: See diagram (1 diagram = 1 pattern repeat). Diagrams are seen from RS.
Moss stitch: 1st row: K1, P1. 2nd row: K over P and P over K. Repeat 1st and 2nd row continuously.

Body: Embroider M.5 in cross sts afterwards (M.5 may be knitted at the same time as knitting jacket) – see Assembly for placing pattern correctly. Knit jacket back and forth on circular needles. Cast on 218 (230-242) sts (incl 2 edge sts) on circular needle size 3 mm with beige and knit 3 cm moss sts. Change to circular needle size 4 mm and knit M.1 with 1 edge st on each side mid front. Remember knitting tension. After M.1 continue knitting in beige. When piece measures 31 (33-33) cm knit next row as follows: 53 (56-59) sts front piece, cast off 4 sts for armhole, 104 (110-116) sts back piece, cast off 4 sts for armhole, 53 (56-59) sts front piece. Complete each part separately.

Front piece: = 53 (56-59) sts. Continuing, cast of for armhole on every other row: 2 sts 1 (2-3) times, 1 st x 2 times = 49 (50-51) sts. When piece measures 44 (46-47) cm and cast off to shape neckline on every other row: 6 (7-7) sts 1 time, 3 sts 1 times, 2 sts 3 times, 1 sts 2 times and then on every 4 rows: 1 st 3 times. At the same time when piece measures 52 (54-55) cm knit M.2. Cast off after M.2 – piece measures approx 56 (58-59) cm.

Back piece: = 104 (110-116) sts. Continuing cast of like front piece = 96 (98-100) sts. When piece measures 52 (54-55) cm knit M.2. At the same time when piece measures 54 (56-57) cm cast of middle 34 (36-36) sts for neck and cast of 2 sts on each side on next row at neckline. Cast off after M.2 – piece measures approx 56 (58-59) cm.

Sleeves: Cast on 48 (48-48) sts on double pointed needles size 3 mm with beige and knit 3 cm moss stitch. Change to double pointed needles size 4 mm, knit M.3 and inc 0 (2-2) sts evenly on 1st round = 48 (50-50) sts. At the same time after moss stitch inc mid under arm: 2 sts 26 (25-27) times on Size S+M: Every 4 rounds and Size L: Alternating on every 3rd and 4th round = 100 (100-104) sts. After M.2 knit with beige until piece measures 28 (28-28) cm, then knit M.4 and after M.4 complete with beige. When piece measures 46 (45-45) cm cast off 4 sts mid under arm and complete knitting back and forth on needle. Continuing cast off to shape sleeve cap on each side on every other row: 5 (4-3) sts 6 (8-9) times, cast off. Piece measures approx 52 (52-53) cm.

Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Pick up approx 96-104 sts along left front piece on circular needle size 3 mm with beige and knit 3 cm moss stitch as follows: 1 row beige, 2.5 cm wine red, 1 row beige and cast off with beige. Repeat along right front piece, but after 1 cm knit 5 buttonholes evenly distributed on row - 1 buttonhole = cast off 2 sts and cast on 2 new sts over cast off sts on next row. Pick up 120-124 sts round neckline on circular needle size 3 mm with beige and knit moss stitches as on front band – but knit 2 cm wine red in stead of 2.5 cm. Now, embroider M.5 on right front piece with cross stitch placed as follows: 4 sts from M.1 and 3 sts from front band. Then embroider M.5 on left front piece – but mirrored. Sew in sleeves and buttons.
