NEEDLES:
DROPS CIRCULAR NEEDLE SIZE 12 MM: Length 60 cm and 80 cm.
DROPS DOUBLE POINTED NEEDLES SIZE 12 MM.

EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN:
-------------------------------------------------------
RAGLAN:
Increase 1 stitch by making 1 yarn over, which is worked as follows on the next round:
BEFORE RAGLAN-STITCH:
Slip the yarn over off the left needle and replace it twisted (insert the left needle through the back when replacing it). Knit the front loop to avoid a hole. Then work the new stitch in stocking stitch.
AFTER RAGLAN-STITCH:
Knit through the back loop to avoid a hole. Then work the new stitch in stocking stitch.
ROUND CAST-OFF (stitches are picked up from the wrong side and the casting-off gives a round, rolled edge on the right side):
Find the stitch 2 rounds below the first stitch. Pick this stitch up through the top loop (from the wrong side) and place it on the left needle. Knit together this loop and the next stitch.
* Pick up the next stitch in the same way and knit it together with the next stitch on the needle. Cast off by passing stitch-1 over stitch-2 *.
Repeat from *-* until all stitches are cast off. Cut and fasten the strand.
SLEEVE TIP:
When knitting up stitches under the sleeve, you can get a small hole in the transition between stitches on the body and sleeve. This hole can be closed by picking up the strand between 2 stitches and working this strand twisted together with the first stitch between body and sleeve.
DECREASE TIP:
So the decreases are worked alternately on the right and left side of the marker-thread, decrease alternately at the beginning and end of the round.
Decrease at the beginning of the round by slipping the first stitch, knitting 1 and passing the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch (= 1 stitch decreased).
Decrease at the end of the round by knitting together the last 2 stitches on the round (= 1 stitch decreased).

-------------------------------------------------------
JUMPER – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE:
The pattern uses both long and short needles; start with the length which fits the number of stitches and change when necessary.
The neck and yoke are worked in the round with circular needle, top down and from the right back shoulder. When the yoke is finished, it is divided for the body and sleeves and the body continued in the round, while the sleeves wait. The sleeves are worked top down, in the round.
NECK:
Cast on 36-40-40-44-44-48 stitches with circular needle size 12 mm and 1 strand of each colour DROPS Air (= 4 strands). Knit 1 round. Work 2 rounds of rib (knit 1, purl 1).
The round begins on the right back shoulder. Insert 1 marker after the first 14-15-15-16-16-17 stitches (approx. mid-front); the piece is now measured from here.
YOKE:
Insert 4 markers without working the stitches, each marker inserted into 1 stitch (raglan-stitch) which is worked in stocking stitch.
Insert marker-1 in the first stitch, count 7 stitches (= sleeve),
Insert marker-2 in the next stitch, count 9-11-11-13-13-15 stitches (= front piece),
Insert marker-3 in the next stitch, count 7 stitches (= sleeve),
Insert marker-4 in the next stitch. There are 9-11-11-13-13-15 stitches after the last stitch (= back piece).
Work stocking stitch in the round and increase for RAGLAN – read explanation above, on each side of all 4 raglan-stitches (= 8 increased stitches). Increase for raglan every 2nd round a total of 10-11-12-13-14-14 times = 116-128-136-148-156-160 stitches. Remember to maintain the knitting tension.
Continue with stocking stitch but without further increases, until the yoke measures 20-22-24-26-28-28 cm from the marker mid-front. Now divide for the body and sleeves.
DIVIDE FOR BODY AND SLEEVES:
Knit 3 (these stitches belong to the back piece), place the next 23-25-27-29-31-31 stitches on 1 thread for the sleeve, cast on 4-4-6-6-6-8 stitches (under the sleeve), knit 35-39-41-45-47-49 (= front piece), place the next 23-25-27-29-31-31 stitches on 1 thread for the sleeve, cast on 4-4-6-6-6-8 stitches (under the sleeve), knit the last 32-36-38-42-44-46 stitches (= back piece). Cut the strand. The body and sleeves are finished separately.
BODY:
= 78-86-94-102-106-114 stitches. Insert 1 marker-thread in the middle of the 4-4-6-6-6-8 cast-on stitches under one sleeve. Start at the marker-thread and continue stocking stitch in the round until the piece measures 46-48-50-52-54-56 cm from the marker mid-front.
Work ROUND CAST-OFF – see explanation above. The jumper measures approx. 50-52-54-56-58-60 cm from top of shoulder.
SLEEVES:
Place the 23-25-27-29-31-31 sleeve-stitches from one thread on circular needle size 12 mm and knit up 1 stitch in each of the 4-4-6-6-6-8 stitches cast on under the sleeve – read SLEEVE TIP = 27-29-33-35-37-39 stitches. Insert a marker-thread in the middle of the 4-4-6-6-6-8 stitches under the sleeve.
Start at the marker-thread and work stocking stitch in the round.
When the sleeve measures 3 cm, decrease 2 stitches under the sleeve – read DECREASE TIP. Decrease alternately at the beginning and end of the round every 10-10-6-4-3½-3½ cm a total of 4-4-6-8-8-8 times (2-2-3-4-4-4 times on each side) = 23-25-27-27-29-31 stitches. Continue working until the sleeve measures 43-42-41-38-37-37 cm. Work round cast-off.
