BLANKET – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE:
5 squares are worked in each colour (with the outermost round in colour off white). The squares are crocheted together and an edge worked around the blanket to finish.
BLANKET:
Use crochet hook size 8 mm and DROPS Snow. Read COLOURS in explanations above. Work squares according to diagram A.1 as follows: Work 7 chain stitches and form them into a ring with 1 slip stitch in the first chain stitch worked. Work A.1, 4 times on the round and work the first 4 rounds. Read COLOUR-CHANGE and work round-5 in the diagram with colour off white.
Work 5 squares in each colour. Remember to maintain the crochet tension.
You have a total of 35 squares.
ASSEMBLY:
Lay the squares out according to diagram A.2, making sure all squares are right side up.
The numbers in the diagram correspond to the numbers in COLOURS. Work the squares together first widthwise then lengthwise as follows:
Use crochet hook size 8 mm and colour off white.
Lay 2 squares edge to edge. Start in one corner and work in each stitch as follows: * insert the hook from the right side and through the back stitch-loop on one square, then insert the hook from the right side and through the back stitch-loop on the second square, pick up the strand and pull it through both loops on the hook *, work from *-* to the next corner, work 1 chain stitch, work from *-* along the next 2 squares in the same way. When all the strips are worked widthwise, work them together lengthwise in the same way.
EDGE AROUND BLANKET:
Use crochet hook size 8 mm and colour off white.
ROUND 1: Work according to A.1, starting in the middle of one square. Work 1 treble crochet in each double crochet; in each transition between 2 squares work 3 treble crochets (1 treble crochet around the chain-space in the corner, 1 treble crochet in the join between the 2 squares and 1 treble crochet in the corner of the next square). In each corner of the blanket work 3 treble crochets, 3 chain stitches and 3 treble crochets.
