Crocheted star/Christmas decoration in DROPS Safran and DROPS Glitter. The piece is worked in the round, middle outwards. Theme: Christmas.

SIZE:
Approx. 7 cm from star-tip to star-tip.

YARN:
DROPS SAFRAN from Garnstudio (belongs to yarn group A)
50 g colour 71, marzipan
And use:
DROPS GLITTER from Garnstudio
1 spool colour 01, gold

1 star weighs approx. 4 g.

CROCHET HOOK:
DROPS CROCHET HOOK SIZE 3 MM.

CROCHET TENSION:
24 treble crochets in width and 13 rows in height with hook size 3 mm = 10 x 10 cm.
Hook size is only a guide. If you get too many stitches on 10 cm, change to a larger hook size. If you get too few stitches on 10 cm, change to a smaller hook size.

CROCHET TIP:
The piece can be worked with 2 strands DROPS Glitter if you want more sparkle. Wind small amount of DROPS Glitter around a small piece of cardboard and work with 1 strand DROPS Safran and 2 strands DROPS Glitter (3 strands).

STAR – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE:
The piece is worked in the round, middle outwards.

STAR:
Use crochet hook size 3 mm, 1 strand DROPS Safran and 1 strand DROPS Glitter (2 strands – read CROCHET TIP). Work 5 chain stitches and form them into a ring with 1 slip stitch in the first chain stitch.
Work A.1 in the round or work as described below. Remember to maintain the crochet tension.

ROUND 1:
3 chain stitches, 2 treble crochets around the chain-stitch ring, * 3 chain stitches, 3 treble crochets around the chain-stitch ring *, work from *-* a total of 4 times, work 3 chain stitches and 1 slip stitch in the 3rd chain stitch at the beginning of the round = 5 treble-crochet groups, with 3 chain stitches between each one.
ROUND 2:
1 chain stitch, 1 double crochet in the middle treble crochet of the first treble-crochet group, * around the chain-space work as follows: 1 treble crochet, 2 double-treble crochets, 2 chain stitches, 2 double-treble crochets, 1 treble crochet, then work 1 double crochet in the middle treble crochet of the next treble-crochet group*, work from *-* a total of 4 times, work around the next chain-space as before, finish with 1 slip stitch in the first double crochet at the beginning of the round.
ROUND 3:
1 chain stitch, then work double crochets but work in the back loop of each stitch to give a visible edge, working as follows: * 1 double crochet in the first/next treble crochet, 1 double crochet in each double-treble crochet, 2 double crochets in the first chain stitch, 2 chain stitches, 2 double crochets in the next chain stitch, 1 double crochet in each double-treble crochet, 1 double crochet in the treble crochet, 1 double crochet in the double crochet *, work from *-* a total of 5 times, finishing the round when there is still 1 double crochet left, work 1 slip stitch in the first double crochet at the beginning of the round.
Cut and fasten the strand.

STIFFENING:
To stiffen the star slightly you can dip it in sugared water or colourless fizzy drink and lay it flat to dry.

LOOP:
Cut 1 strand DROPS Glitter of 15 cm, thread the strand through one star-tip and tie a knot in the end.
