EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN:
-------------------------------------------------------
CHAIN STITCH:
If you work outermost on the hook the chain stitch will often be too tight; 1 chain stitch should be as long as 1 treble crochet is wide.
PATTERN:
See diagram A.1.
-------------------------------------------------------
START THE PIECE HERE:
-------------------------------------------------------
WREATH – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE:
The piece is worked back and forth, first with a row of chain stitches, then treble crochets (described below) to form a spiral. The spiral is then shaped into a wreath by sewing the ends together. A decorative button is sewn on and the loop is worked to finish.
WREATH:
Use crochet hook size 3 mm and DROPS Bomull-Lin. Read CHAIN STITCH and work 35 chain stitches. Turn and start A.1 in the 4th chain stitch from hook, then continue A.1 in each chain stitch to the end of the row = 96 treble crochets + 3 chain stitches. Cut the strand (leaving enough length to sew with) and pull it through the stitch.
ASSEMBLY:
Twist the piece to form a spiral (the piece twists on its own but continue twisting it slightly in the same direction). Shape the spiral into a wreath by threading the ends into each other and sewing together. The sewing is at the top of the wreath. Sew a button to the top – see photo.
LOOP:
Cut 1 strand DROPS Bomull-Lin of 15 cm, thread the strand through a stitch at the top (behind the button) and tie a knot in the end.
