POT HOLDER – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE:
The piece is worked in the round with circular needle, bottom up. A small loop is worked before the piece is sewn together, bottom and top.
POT HOLDER:
Cast on 64 stitches with circular needle size 4 mm and colour almond DROPS Paris.
Purl 1 round then work 2 ridges – see GARTER STITCH above.
Insert 1 marker in the first stitch and 1 marker in the 33rd stitch on the round (= sides). Work PATTERN – read description above, as follows: Work 1 stocking stitch with colour almond, A.1 a total of 3 times, 2 stocking stitches with colour almond (last stitch = marker-stitch), work A.1 a total of 3 times, 1 stocking stitch with colour almond. Continue this pattern until A.1 is finished in height – the piece measures approx. 15 cm. Remember to maintain the knitting tension!
Purl 1 round, knit 1 round. Knit 1 round and cast on 16 stitches at the end of this round for the loop = 80 stitches. Turn, cast off (with knit) the 16 cast-on stitches, then cast off the remaining 64 stitches with knit from the wrong side.
Lay the pot holder flat, with the 2 markers on each side. Sew together the bottom with small stitches, inside the cast-on edge. Sew together the top in the same way, then sew the end of the loop to the corner of the pot holder. Cut and fasten the strands.
