EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN:
-------------------------------------------------------
INCREASE TIP (applies to increase in neck):
Increase 1 stitch by making 1 yarn over, on next round knit yarns over as explained below:
BEFORE MARKER:
Slip stitch off left needle and put it back on left needle but the opposite way (insert left needle in from behind when slipping it back on needle). Knit yarn overs in front loop of stitches to avoid holes. Then work the new stitches in stocking stitch.
AFTER MARKER:
Knit yarn overs in back loop of stitches to avoid holes. Then work the new stitches in stocking stitch.

GARTER STITCH (when working back and forth):
Knit on all rows, i.e. knit from right side and knit from wrong side.
1 ridge vertically = knit 2 rows.

START THE PIECE HERE:

----------------------------------------------------------

NECK WARMER - SHORT OVERVIEW OF PIECE:
Work neck edge in the round on a circular needle, top down.
Then divide the piece for front piece and back piece that is worked back and forth separately with or without decrease in the sides - see option 1 without decrease or option 2 with decrease.

NECK EDGE:
Cast on 90-94 stitches on circular needles size 4 mm with 1 strand DROPS Daisy and 1 strand DROPS Kid-Silk (= 2 strands) or 1 strand DROPS Karisma and 1 strand DROPS Kid-Silk (= 2 strands). Insert 1 marker on needle at the beginning of round, and 1 marker after 45-47 stitches. Use markers when increasing for shoulders.
Work rolling edge in the round as follows:
Work 4 rounds in stocking stitch. Work 1 round rib (knit 1/purl 1), knit 1 round, and 1 round rib (knit 1/purl 1).
Work stocking stitch in the round for 4 cm. Remember to follow the knitting tension!
Now increase in the sides - read INCREASE TIP and work as follows:
Begin 2 stitches before the beginning of round / 1st marker, make 1 yarn over, knit 4, make 1 yarn over. Work until 2 stitches remain before next marker, make 1 yarn over, knit 4, make 1 yarn over (= 4 stitches increased) = 94-98 stitches. On next round work yarn overs twisted - remember INCREASE TIP. Increase like this every other round 3 times in total = 102-106 stitches.
Knit 1 round. Fasten off. Now divide the piece at the markers for front piece and back piece, slip stitches for back piece on a thread or needle.

OPTION 1 - FRONT PIECE WITHOUT DECREASE:
= 51-53 stitches.
Cast on 5-6 new stitches on circular needle size 4 mm with 1 strand of each quality, work in stocking stitch over the 51-53 stitches from neck from right side, finish by casting on 5-6 new stitches at the end of row = 61-65 stitches.
Then work back and forth as follows: 4 stitches in GARTER STITCH - read explanation above, 53-57 stitches in stocking stitch, finish with 4 stitches in garter stitch.
Work in stocking stitch with 4 stitches garter stitch in each side until piece measures 16-18 cm from stitches cast on in the sides. Work 4 ridges (= 8 rows worked) over all stitches. Cast off by knitting.
Work back piece the same way.

OPTION 2 - FRONT PIECE WITH DECREASE:
= 51-53 stitches.
Cast on 5-6 new stitches on circular needle size 4 mm with 1 strand of each quality, work in stocking stitch over the 51-53 stitches from neck from right side, finish by casting on 5-6 new stitches at the end of row = 61-65 stitches.
Then work back and forth as follows: 4 stitches in GARTER STITCH - read explanation above, 53-57 stitches in stocking stitch, finish with 4 stitches in garter stitch.
Work in stocking stitch with 4 stitches in garter stitch in each side until piece measures 2 cm from stitches cast on in the side.
Decrease 1 stitch in each side from right side as follows: Work 4 stitches in garter stitch, knit 1, slip 1 stitch, knit 1, lift slipped stitch over stitch worked, knit until 7 stitches remain, knit 2 together, knit 1, finish with 4 stitches in garter stitch. Decrease like this every 4 cm 4 times in total = 53-57 stitches.
Work in stocking stitch with 4 stitches in garter stitch in each side until piece measures 16-18 cm from stitches cast on in the sides. Work 4 ridges (= 8 rows worked) over all stitches. Cast off by knitting.
