SHAWL - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE:
Piece is worked back and forth on circular needle, side to side.
SHAWL:
Cast on 3 stitches on circular needle size 3.5 mm with DROPS Alpaca.
Work A.1. When A.1 has been worked, there are 5 stitches on row.
Work A.2 over 2 stitches, work in garter stitch until 2 stitches remain on needle, work A.3 over 2 stitches. When A.3 has been worked, there are 6 stitches on row (1 stitch increased).
Continue with A.2, garter stitch and A.3 the same way until there are 29 stitches on needle, piece measures approx. 50 cm. Remember to follow the knitting tension!
Continue with A.2 over the first 2 stitches as before, work in garter stitch until 2 stitches remain, work A.4 (no increase of stitches).
Repeat diagrams until they have been worked 1½ time vertically. Piece measures approx. 53 cm.
You have now worked to the middle of the shawl. If you want a longer shawl the diagrams can be repeated. Continue the diagrams until they have been worked 3 times in total vertically (or until they have been worked the same number of times on each side of the middle).
Piece measures approx. 56 cm when the diagrams have been worked 3 times in total vertically.
Work A.2, work in garter stitch until 4 stitches remain, work A.5 (= 1 stitch decreased).
Continue with A.2, garter stitch and A.5 the same way until there are 5 stitches on needle.
Work A.6. When A.6 has been worked vertically, there are 3 stitches on needle. Cast off.
Piece measures approx. 106 cm from cast-on edge.
