DROPS 254-21
DROPS Design: Pattern da-018
Yarn group B
-------------------------------------------------------

SIZES:
S - M - L - XL - XXL - XXXL

YARN:
DROPS DAISY from Garnstudio (belongs to yarn group B)
550-600-650-750-800-900 g colour 09, ice blue

NEEDLES:
DROPS CIRCULAR NEEDLE SIZE 4 MM: Length 40 cm and 80 cm.
DROPS CIRCULAR NEEDLE SIZE 3 MM: Length 40 cm and 80 cm.
DROPS DOUBLE POINTED NEEDLES SIZE 4 MM.
DROPS DOUBLE POINTED NEEDLES SIZE 3 MM.
The technique MAGIC LOOP can be used – you then only need 80 cm circular needle in each size.

KNITTING TENSION:
21 stitches in width and 28 rows in height, with stocking stitch on needle size 4 mm = 10 x 10 cm.
NOTE: Needle size is only a guide. If you get too many stitches on 10 cm, change to a larger needle size. If you get too few stitches on 10 cm, change to a smaller needle size.

EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN:

-------------------------------------------------------

PATTERN:
See diagrams A.1 to A.6.
Choose diagram for your size.

INCREASE TIP (evenly spaced):
To work out how to increase evenly, count the total number of stitches on the needle (e.g., 110 stitches) and divide by the number of increases to be made (e.g., 14) = 7.9.
In this example, increase by making 1 yarn over after approx. each 8th stitch. On the next round work the yarn overs twisted to avoid holes.

DECREASE TIP:
Decrease 1 stitch on each side of the marker-thread as follows:
Work until there are 3 stitches left before the marker-thread, knit 2 together, knit 2 (marker-thread sits between these 2 stitches), slip 1 stitch knit-wise, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch (2 stitches decreased).

START THE PIECE HERE:

-------------------------------------------------------

JUMPER – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE:
The pattern uses both long and short needles; start with the length which fits the number of stitches and change when necessary.
The neck and yoke are worked in the round with circular needle, top down and from the right back shoulder. When the yoke is finished, it is divided for the body and sleeves and the body continued in the round, while the sleeves wait. The sleeves are worked top down, in the round.
The neck is folded double and fastened to the inside.
If there is a «0» in your chosen size, skip the information and go straight to the next instruction.

NECK:
Cast on 110-114-120-124-128-134 stitches with circular needle size 4 mm and DROPS Daisy. Change to circular needle size 3 mm (casting on with a larger needle size makes the cast-on edge elastic).
Work rib in the round (knit 1, purl 1) for 11-11-11-13-13-13 cm. The neck is later folded double to give a neck-height of approx. 5-5-5-6-6-6 cm.
The beginning of the round is on the right back shoulder. Insert 1 marker after the first 38-39-42-44-45-46 stitches (approx. mid-front). The piece is now measured from here.

YOKE:
Change to circular needle size 4 mm. Work stocking stitch and increase 14-22-24-20-24-30 stitches evenly on the first round – read INCREASE TIP = 124-136-144-144-152-164 stitches.
Continue with stocking stitch. Remember to maintain the knitting tension.
When the yoke measures 2-3-3-3½-3½-3½ cm from the marker, increase while working PATTERN as follows – read description above:

A.1:
Work the first round in A.1, 31-34-36-36-38-41 times around the yoke = 155-170-180-216-228-246 stitches.
Work stocking stitch for 3-3-3-3-3½-3½ cm. Work the next round as follows:

A.2:
Work the first round in A.2, 31-34-36-36-38-41 times around the yoke = 186-204-216-252-266-287 stitches.
Work stocking stitch for 3-3-3-3-3½-3½ cm. Work the next round as follows:

A.3:
Work the first round in A.3, 31-34-36-36-38-41 times around the yoke = 217-238-252-288-304-328 stitches.
Work stocking stitch for 3-3-3-3-3½-3½ cm. Work the next round as follows:

A.4:
Work the first round in A.4, 31-34-36-36-38-41 times around the yoke = 248-272-288-324-342-369 stitches.
Work stocking stitch for 3-3-3-3-3½-3½ cm. Work the next round as follows:

A.5:
Work the first round in A.5, 31-34-36-36-38-41 times around the yoke = 279-306-324-360-380-410 stitches.
Work stocking stitch for 3-3-3-3-3½-3½ cm. Work the next round as follows:

A.6:
Work the first round in A.6, 31-34-36-36-38-41 times around the yoke = 310-340-360-396-418-451 stitches. The yoke measures approx. 19-20-20-21-23-23 cm from the marker mid-front.
Work stocking stitch, AT THE SAME TIME increase 2-0-4-4-6-9 stitches evenly on the first round = 312-340-364-400-424-460 stitches.
When the yoke measures 21-23-23-24-26-28 cm from the marker mid-front, divide for the body and sleeves.

DIVIDE FOR BODY AND SLEEVES:
Place the first 60-64-70-78-80-84 stitches on a thread for the sleeve, cast on 8-8-10-10-12-12 stitches (in side mid-under sleeve), knit 96-106-112-122-132-146 (= front piece), place the next 60-64-70-78-80-84 stitches on a thread for the sleeve, cast on 8-8-10-10-12-12 stitches (in side mid-under sleeve), knit the last 96-106-112-122-132-146 stitches (= back piece). The body and sleeves are finished separately.

BODY:
= 208-228-244-264-288-316 stitches. Insert 1 marker in the middle of the 8-8-10-10-12-12 cast-on stitches under one sleeve. Work to the marker, the round now starts here.
Work stocking stitch in the round until the piece measures 45-47-48-49-51-53 cm from the marker mid-front.
Change to circular needle size 3 mm. Work rib (knit 1, purl 1), AT THE SAME TIME increase 46-46-50-54-62-64 stitches evenly on the first round = 254-274-294-318-350-380 stitches.
When the rib measures 6-6-6-7-7-7 cm, cast off with Italian cast off or slightly loosely with rib. The jumper measures approx. 51-53-54-56-58-60 cm from the marker mid-front and 56-58-60-62-64-66 cm from top of shoulder.

SLEEVES:
Place the 60-64-70-78-80-84 sleeve-stitches from the thread on one side of the piece on circular needle size 4 mm and knit up 1 stitch in each of the 8-8-10-10-12-12 stitches cast on under the sleeve = 68-72-80-88-92-96 stitches. Insert a marker-thread in the middle of the 8-8-10-10-12-12 stitches under the sleeve.
Start at the marker-thread and work stocking stitch in the round.
When the sleeve measures 3-3-3-3-2-2 cm, decrease 2 stitches under the sleeve – read DECREASE TIP. Decrease like this every 6-5-3½-2½-2½-2 cm a total of 6-7-10-12-13-14 times = 56-58-60-64-66-68 stitches. Continue working until the sleeve measures 39-37-38-37-36-34 cm from the division. Change to double pointed needles size 3 mm. Work rib (knit 1, purl 1), AT THE SAME TIME increase 12-12-12-14-14-14 stitches evenly on the first round = 68-70-72-78-80-82 stitches. When the rib measures 6-6-6-7-7-7 cm, cast off with Italian cast-off or with rib. The sleeve measures approx. 45-43-44-44-43-41 cm from the division.

ASSEMBLY:
Fold the neck double to the inside and sew down. To avoid the neck being tight and rolling outwards, it is important that the seam is elastic.
