NEEDLES:
DROPS CIRCULAR NEEDLES SIZE 4 MM: Length 40 cm and 60 cm.
DROPS CIRCULAR NEEDLE SIZE 3 MM: Length 60 cm.
DROPS DOUBLE POINTED NEEDLES SIZE 4 MM.
DROPS DOUBLE POINTED NEEDLES SIZE 3 MM.
The technique MAGIC LOOP can be used – you then only need 80 cm circular needle in each size.

KNITTING TENSION:
21 stitches in width and 28 rows in height with stocking stitch = 10 x 10 cm.
NOTE: Needle size is only a guide. If you get too many stitches on 10 cm, change to a larger needle size. If you get too few stitches on 10 cm, change to a smaller needle size.

EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN:

INCREASE TIP (evenly spaced):
To work out how to increase evenly, count the total number of stitches on the needle (e.g., 80 stitches) and divide by the number of increases to be made (e.g., 16) = 5.
In this example, increase by making 1 yarn over after each 5th stitch. On the next round knit the yarn overs twisted to avoid holes.

PATTERN:
See diagram A.1. The pattern is worked in stocking stitch.

KNITTING TIP:
To avoid the knitting tension losing its elasticity when working pattern, it is important that the strands at the back are not tight. Use a size larger needle when working pattern if the piece becomes tight.

DECREASE TIP (for sleeves):
Decrease 1 stitch on each side of the marker-thread as follows: Work until there are 3 stitches left before the marker-thread, knit 2 together, knit 2 (marker-thread sits between these 2 stitches), slip 1 stitch knit-wise, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch (2 stitches decreased).

START THE PIECE HERE:

JUMPER – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE:
The neck and yoke are worked in the round with circular needle, from mid back and top down. The yoke is divided for body and sleeves and the body is continued in the round with circular needle. The sleeves are worked in the round with double pointed needles.

NECK:
Cast on 80-80-84-84-88-88 stitches with short circular needle or double pointed needles size 3 mm and colour light nougat DROPS Daisy. Knit 1 round. Then work rib in the round (knit 2, purl 2) for 3 cm.
When the rib is finished, knit 1 round and increase 16-20-20-24-24-28 stitches evenly spaced – read INCREASE TIP = 96-100-104-108-112-116 stitches.
Insert 1 marker at the beginning of the round (mid-back); the yoke is measured from here!

YOKE:
Change to circular needle size 4 mm. Read KNITTING TIP and work A.1 in the round. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION!
AT THE SAME TIME increase on each round marked with an arrow in A.1 as follows – remember INCREASE TIP:
Arrow-1:
Increase 20-24-24-24-24-28 stitches evenly spaced = 116-124-128-132-136-144 stitches.
Arrow-2:
Increase 24-24-24-24-28-28 stitches evenly spaced = 140-148-152-156-164-172 stitches.
Arrow-3:
Increase 24-24-24-24-28-28 stitches evenly spaced = 164-172-176-180-192-200 stitches.
Arrow-4:
Increase 24-24-28-28-28-32 stitches evenly spaced = 188-196-204-208-220-232 stitches.
Arrow-5:
Increase 24-28-32-32-32-32 stitches evenly spaced = 212-224-236-240-252-264 stitches.

Finish A.1, then continue with colour light nougat until the yoke measures 16-16-16-17-18-19 cm from the marker on the neck.

Now divide for the body and sleeves as follows:
Knit 31-33-35-36-38-40 (half back piece), place the next 44-46-48-48-50-52 stitches on 1 thread for the sleeve, cast on 6-6-6-8-8-8 stitches (in side under sleeve), knit 62-66-70-72-76-80 stitches (front piece), place the next 44-46-48-48-50-52 stitches on 1 thread for the sleeve, cast on 6-6-6-8-8-8 stitches (in side under sleeve) and knit the remaining 31-33-35-36-38-40 stitches (half back piece). The body and sleeves are finished separately. The piece is now measured from here!

BODY:
= 136-144-152-160-168-176 stitches.
Continue in the round, with stocking stitch and colour light nougat for a further 15-19-23-25-26-27 cm. Knit 1 round and increase AT THE SAME TIME 36-36-36-40-40-40 stitches evenly spaced = 172-180-188-200-208-216 stitches. Change to circular needle size 3 mm. Work rib (knit 2, purl 2) for 3-3-3-4-4-4 cm. Cast off with rib. The jumper measures approx. 36-40-44-48-50-52 cm from the shoulder.

SLEEVES:
Place the 44-46-48-48-50-52 stitches from the thread on the one side of the piece on double pointed needles size 4 mm and knit up 1 stitch in each of the 6-6-6-8-8-8 stitches cast on under the sleeve = 50-52-54-56-58-60 stitches. Insert a marker-thread in the middle of the new stitches under the sleeve and allow it to follow your work onwards.

Work stocking stitch in the round with colour light nougat.
When the sleeve measures 3 cm, decrease 2 stitches under the sleeve – read DECREASE TIP. Decrease like this every 1½-2½-3-3½-4-4 cm a total of 6-7-7-7-7-8 times = 38-38-40-42-44-44 stitches. Continue working until the sleeve measures 14-20-24-27-31-35 cm from the division. Knit 1 round and increase 6-6-8-6-8-8 stitches evenly spaced = 44-44-48-48-52-52 stitches. Change to double pointed needles size 3 mm and work rib (knit 2, purl 2) for 3-3-3-4-4-4 cm. Cast off with rib. The sleeve measures approx. 17-23-27-31-35-39 cm from the division.
Work the other sleeve in the same way.
