EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN:
-------------------------------------------------------
PATTERN:
See diagrams A.1 to A.6.
DECREASE TIP (for neck):
All decreases are worked from the right side!
DECREASE 1 STITCH AT BEGINNING OF ROW (right shoulder): Work 1 edge stitch in garter stitch, slip 1 stitch knit-wise, knit 1, pass the slipped stitch over (1 stitch decreased).
DECREASE 1 STITCH AT END OF ROW (left shoulder): Work until there are 3 stitches left on the row, knit 2 together (1 stitch decreased), 1 edge stitch in garter stitch.
INCREASE TIP (for sleeves):
Start 1 stitch before the marker-thread, make 1 yarn over, knit 2 (marker-thread sits between these 2 stitches), 1 yarn over (2 increased stitches). On the next round knit the yarn overs twisted to avoid holes. Then work the new stitches in stocking stitch.

START THE PIECE HERE:
-------------------------------------------------------
JUMPER – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE:
The body is worked in the round with circular needle bottom up as far as the armholes, then divided and the front and back pieces are finished separately, back and forth with circular needle. There is cabling on the front piece. The back piece is worked in stocking stitch.
The sleeves are worked in the round with double pointed needles/a short circular needle bottom up. The piece is sewn together and the neck worked in the round to finish.
BODY:
Cast on 196-212-228-244-264-284 stitches with circular needle size 4 mm, 1 strand DROPS Soft Tweed and 1 strand DROPS Kid-Silk (2 strands). Work rib as follows: Knit 1, * purl 2, knit 2 *, work from *-* over the next 8-12-16-20-24-28 stitches, work A.1, A.2, A.1, * knit 2, purl 2 *, work from *-* until there is 1 stitch left, knit 1.
Continue this rib for 8 cm. Change to circular needle size 5 mm and work as follows: Knit the first 7-11-15-19-23-27 stitches and decrease 1-2-3-3-2-1 stitches evenly over these stitches, work A.5, A.3 over A.1, A.4 over A.2, A.3 over A.1, A.6, knit 7-11-15-19-23-27 stitches and decrease 1-2-3-3-2-1 stitches evenly over these stitches, knit 100-108-116-124-136-148 stitches and decrease 20-22-24-24-26-28 stitches evenly over these stitches. Insert 1 marker-thread at the beginning of the round and 1 marker-thread after 94-100-106-114-124-134 stitches (sides, with 94-100-106-114-124-134 stitches on the front piece and 80-86-92-100-110-120 stitches on the back piece).
Continue as follows: Knit 6-9-12-16-21-26, work A.5, A.3, A.4, A.3, A.6, knit 6-9-12-16-21-26 (marker-thread here), knit 80-86-92-100-110-120. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION!
When the piece measures 33-34-35-36-37-38 cm, cast off for the armholes as follows (adjust so the next round has cabling):
Start 3-3-3-4-5-7 stitches before the first marker-thread, cast off 6-6-6-8-10-14 stitches, work until there are 3-3-3-4-5-7 stitches left before the second marker-thread, cast off 6-6-6-8-10-14 stitches, work to the end of the round = 88-94-100-108-114-120 stitches on the front piece and 74-80-86-92-100-106 stitches on the back piece.
BACK PIECE:
= 74-80-86-92-100-106 stitches. Continue back and forth with stocking stitch.
OVERVIEW OF THE NEXT SECTION:
You will now decrease for the neck and place stitches on threads for the shoulders. Read NECKLINE and DIAGONAL SHOULDER before continuing. Work until the piece measures 52-54-56-58-60-62 cm. On the next row cast off the middle 26-26-28-30-32-32 stitches for the neckline and finish each shoulder separately.
NECKLINE:
Decrease 1 stitch for the neckline on the next row from the right side – read DECREASE TIP.
DIAGONAL SHOULDER:
Place the outermost stitches by the armhole on a thread, after working them to avoid having to cut the strand, as follows. Place 6-6-7-7-8-9 stitches on the thread 3 times, then the last 5-8-7-9-9-9 stitches. All stitches are now either cast off or placed on the thread.
Place the 23-26-28-30-33-36 stitches from the thread on circular needle size 5 mm. Work 1 row of stocking stitch - to avoid a hole where you turned mid-row, pick up the strand between 2 stitches and work it twisted together with the next stitch on the left needle. Cast off loosely. The piece measures approx. 56-58-60-62-64-66 cm from the top of the shoulder.
Work the other shoulder in the same way.
FRONT PIECE:
= 88-94-100-108-114-120 stitches.
Work in pattern back and forth until the piece measures 48-50-52-52-54-56 cm. On the next row place the middle 30-30-32-34-36-36 stitches on a thread for the neckline and finish each shoulder separately. The stitches in A.4 and A.3 are now continued with knit over knit and purl over purl as shown in the diagram, and without cabling.
OVERVIEW OF THE NEXT SECTION:
You will now decrease for the neck and place stitches on threads for the shoulders. Read NECKLINE and DIAGONAL SHOULDERS before continuing.
NECKLINE:
Decrease 1 stitch for the neckline on each row from the right side 4 times – read DECREASE TIP.
DIAGONAL SHOULDER:
AT THE SAME TIME, when the piece measures 52-54-56-58-60-62 cm, place the outermost stitches by the armhole on a thread in the same way as on the back piece. When working over A.3, decrease 2 stitches evenly over these stitches. When all stitches are either decreased or placed on the thread, place the 23-26-28-30-33-36 stitches from the thread on circular needle size 5 mm. Work 1 row of stocking stitch in the same way as on the back piece. Cast off loosely. The piece measures approx. 56-58-60-62-64-66 cm from the top of the shoulder.
Work the other shoulder in the same way.
ASSEMBLY:
Sew the shoulder seams together.
DOUBLE NECK:
Knit up from the right side 88 to 104 stitches around the neckline (including the stitches on the thread) with short circular needle size 4 mm and 1 strand of each quality (2 strands). The stitch count must be divisible by 4. Work rib in the round (knit 2, purl 2) for 12 cm. Cast off with rib. Fold the neck double to the inside and fasten down.
SLEEVES:
Cast on 52-52-56-60-64-64 stitches with double pointed needles size 4 mm and 1 strand of each quality. Work rib in the round (knit 2, purl 2) for 8 cm. Change to double pointed needles size 5 mm. Knit 1 round and decrease 8-8-10-12-14-12 stitches evenly spaced = 44-44-46-48-50-52 stitches. Insert 1 marker-thread at the beginning of the round. Continue with stocking stitch until the sleeve measures 12 cm. Now increase 1 stitch on each side of the marker-thread - read INCREASE TIP! Increase like this every 4½-3½-3-2½-2-2 cm a total of 8-10-11-11-12-12 times = 60-64-68-70-74-76 stitches.
When the sleeve measures 49-48-47-46-44-42 cm, continue working stocking stitch back and forth for the sleeve cap until the sleeve measures 51-50-49-48-47-46 cm, a split of 2-2-2-2-3-4 cm.
ASSEMBLY:
Sew the sleeve cap to the armhole, then the split to the bottom of the armhole – see sketch.
