EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN:
-------------------------------------------------------
PATTERN:
See diagrams A.1 to A.3. Choose diagram for your size (applies to A.1 and A.3).
CROCHET INFORMATION-1:
TREBLE CROCHETS:
At the beginning of each round of treble crochets work 3 chain stitches, which replace the first treble crochet. The round finishes with 1 slip stitch in the third chain stitch at the beginning of the round
DOUBLE CROCHETS:
At the beginning of each round of double crochets work 1 chain stitch, which does NOT replace the first double crochet (is in addition). The round finishes with 1 slip stitch in the first double crochet at the beginning of the round.
CROCHET INFORMATION-2:
Rounds which start working 3 treble crochets together: Start with 3 chain stitches (which replace the first treble crochet), work 1 treble crochet in the next stitch, but wait with the last yarn over and pull-through, work 1 treble crochet in the next stitch and pull the last yarn over through all 3 loops on the hook. Finish the round with 1 slip stitch in the top of this treble-crochet group.
COLOUR-CHANGE:
When changing colours, it is neatest if the last slip stitch on the round is worked with the new colour.
COLOUR TIP:
When working with 2 colours, lay the unused strand at the back of the piece.
INCREASE TIP:
Increase 1 stitch by working 2 stitches in the same stitch.

HAT - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE:
The hat is worked in the round top down. The brim is worked to finish.
HAT:
Work 4 chain stitches with hook size 4 mm and colour sea green DROPS Paris. Form them into a ring with 1 slip stitch in the first chain stitch.
Work A.1, 12 times around the ring - read CROCHET INFORMATION-1, PATTERN, COLOUR-CHANGE and COLOUR TIP – and on the last row in A.1 increase 0-4-4 stitches (in addition to the increases in A.1) evenly spaced – read INCREASE TIP = 84-88-88 stitches. REMEMBER THE CROCHET TENSION!
When A.1 is finished, work A.2 over all stitches - read CROCHET INFORMATION-2 – and increase 8 stitches evenly on each round marked with an arrow = 100-104-104 stitches. When A.2 is finished, the hat measures approx. 14½-15½-15½ cm from the middle outwards.
BRIM:
Work A.3 over all stitches and increase 8 stitches evenly on the first 2 rounds marked with an arrow = 116-120-120 stitches. On the round with a double arrow, increase 4 stitches evenly spaced = 120-124-124 stitches.
Note: On the last round, when working slip stitches, make sure the stitches are not tight. Cut and fasten the strands. The hat measures approx. 17-19-20 cm.
