EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN:

----------------------------------------------------------

GARTER STITCH (back and forth):
Knit all rows.
1 ridge vertically = knit 2 rows.

PATTERN:
See diagram A.1. Choose diagram for your size. Diagrams show all rows in pattern seen from the right side.
BUTTONHOLES:
Decrease for buttonholes on right band (when garment is worn). Decrease from right side when 3 stitches remain on row as follows: Make 1 yarn over, knit the next 2 stitches together, knit last stitch. On next row (wrong side) knit the yarn over to make a hole.
Decrease first buttonhole when yoke measures approx. 1 cm. Then cast off the next 4-4-4-5-5-5 buttonholes approx. 9½-9½-10-10-10-10 cm apart.

DECREASE TIP (applies to mid under sleeves):
Decrease 1 stitch on each side of marker thread as follows: Work until 3 stitches remain before marker thread and knit 2 together, knit 2 (marker thread is between these 2 stitches), slip 1 stitch knitwise, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over stitch worked.

----------------------------------------------------------

START THE PIECE HERE:

----------------------------------------------------------

JACKET - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE:
Work double neck edge and yoke back and forth on circular needle from mid front, work top down. Now divide yoke for body and sleeves. Work body back and forth on circular needle. Work sleeves in the round on double pointed needles/a short circular needle.

DOUBLE NECK EDGE:
Cast on 62-62-66-70-70-74 on short circular needle size 6 mm with 1 strand colour grey beige in DROPS Wish or 2 strands DROPS Air beige. Purl 1 row (= wrong side). Work next row as follows from right side: * Knit 2, purl 2 *, work from *-* until 2 stitches remain on row, finish with knit 2. Continue rib like this.
When rib measures 6 cm, cast on 4 new stitches at the end of the next 2 rows = 70-70-74-78-78-82 stitches. Continue rib, work the outermost 4 stitches in each side in GARTER STITCH – read explanation above (= band). When rib measures 13 cm, knit 1 row from right side while decreasing
7-1-5-3-3-1 stitches evenly (do not decrease over band stitches) = 63-69-69-75-75-81 stitches.

YOKE:
Switch to circular needle size 8 mm. Insert 1 marker after band at beginning of row mid front, measure yoke from this marker! Decrease for BUTTONHOLES - read explanation above. Work as follows - from right side: 4 band stitches in garter stitch, work 1 stitch in stocking stitch in colour grey beige / beige, work A.1 9-10-10-11-11-12 times in total and finish with 4 band stitches in garter stitch.
When A.1 has been worked vertically, piece measures approx. 17-17-17-20-20-20 cm from marker , and there are 153-169-169-185-185-201 stitches on needle. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION!
Continue with colour grey beige, stocking stitch and garter stitch on band. AT THE SAME TIME on first row from right side after A.1, increase 7-7-13-13-21-21 stitches evenly (do not increase over bands) = 160-176-182-198-206-222 stitches.
Increase is done in size S and M.
SIZE L, XL, XXL and XXXL:
When piece measures 20-22-23-24 cm, increase 10-6-14-14 stitches evenly = 192-204-220-236 stitches.

ALL SIZES:
= 160-176-192-204-220-236 stitches. Work without increases until piece measures 21-23-24-26-28-30 cm.

Now divide piece for body and sleeves. Work next round as follows:
Work the first 27-30-32-34-37-40 stitches (front piece), slip the next 30-32-36-38-40-42 stitches on a thread for sleeve, cast on 6-6-6-8-8-8 new stitches on row (in the side under sleeve), work the next 46-52-56-60-66-72 stitches (back piece), slip the next 30-32-36-38-40-42 stitches on a thread for sleeve, cast on 6-6-6-8-8-8 new stitches on row (in the side under sleeve), work the last 27-30-32-34-37-40 stitches (front piece). Then finish body and sleeves separately. Now measure piece from here.

BODY:
= 112-124-132-144-156-168 stitches. Then work in colour grey beige / beige, stocking stitch and 4 band stitches in garter stitch in each side of piece. Work until piece measures 20-20-21-21-21-21 cm from division. Knit 1 round from right side while increasing 30-38-38-42-46-50 stitches evenly (do not increase over bands) = 142-162-170-186-202-218 stitches. Switch to circular needle size 6 mm. Work next row as follows from wrong side: 4 band stitches in garter stitch, * purl 2, knit 2 *, repeat from *-* until 6 stitches remain on needle, purl 2 and finish with 4 band stitches in garter stitch.
Continue rib like this for 11 cm. Cast off stitches with knit over knit and purl over purl. Jacket measures approx. 56-58-60-62-64-66 cm from shoulder and down.

SLEEVES:
Slip the 30-32-36-38-40-42 stitches from thread in one side of piece on a short circular needle/double pointed needles size 8 mm and pick in addition up 1 stitch in each of the 6-6-6-8-8-8 stitches cast on in the side under sleeve = 36-38-42-46-48-50 stitches. Insert a marker thread in the middle of the new stitches (= 3-3-3-4-4-4 new stitches on each side of marker thread). Move the marker thread upwards when working; it should be used for decrease mid under sleeve.
Begin at the marker thread, use colour grey beige and work stocking stitch in the round.
When sleeve measures 4 cm from division, decrease 1 stitch on each side of marker thread - read DECREASE TIP. Decrease like this approx. every 12-10-7-5-4-4 cm 3-3-4-5-5-5 times in total = 30-32-34-36-38-40 stitches. Work until sleeve measures 30-29-28-26-25-23 cm from division – or desired length (approx. 11 cm remain until finished measurements). Knit 1 round while increasing 10-8-10-8-10-12 stitches evenly = 40-40-44-44-48-52 stitches. Switch to double pointed needles size 6 mm. Work rib (knit 2/purl 2) for 11 cm. Cast off stitches with knit over knit and purl over purl. Sleeve measures approx. 41-40-39-37-36-34 cm from division. Work the other sleeve the same way.

ASSEMBLY:
Fold rib at the top of neck down on inside of garment. Fasten rib to get a double neck edge. To avoid a tight neck edge that sticks out it is important to keep the seam elastic.

EMBROIDER NOSES:
Embroider noses on the snowmen with French nots in colour tabasco - see diagram A1 and A.
