BAG– SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE:
The piece is worked in the round, bottom up.
BAG:
Work 4 chain stitches with hook size 3 mm and DROPS Paris, colour wasabi. Form them into a ring with 1 slip stitch in the first chain stitch. Work STRIPES – read description above.
ROUND 1: Work 6 double crochets around the ring. Finish with 1 slip stitch in the first double crochet at the beginning of the round.
ROUND 2: Work 2 double crochets in each stitch = 12 stitches. Finish with 1 slip stitch in the first double crochet at the beginning of the round.
ROUND 3: * 2 double crochets in the first stitch, 1 double crochet in the next stitch *, work from *-* 5 more times = 18 stitches. Finish with 1 slip stitch in the first double crochet at the beginning of the round.
Insert 1 marker at the beginning of the round. Continue working in the round, without finishing with slip stitches after each round (avoids marked transitions between rounds).
AT THE SAME TIME, increase 6 double crochets on each round in the same place as the previous increases (1 more stitch between each increase on each round). The circle eventually turns into a hexagon.
REMEMBER THE CROCHET TENSION!
Work for a total of 12 rounds = 72 stitches (the piece measures approx. 5-6 cm from the middle). Remember STRIPES.
Change to crochet hook size 4 mm and continue round and round (without increasing) with 1 double crochet in each stitch and until the piece measures 18 cm from the middle. On the next round work as follows: * 7 double crochets, 2 chain stitches, skip 2 stitches *, work from *-* to the end of the round. On the next round work 1 double crochet in each double crochet and 1 double crochet around each chain stitch = 72 stitches. Change to colour forest green and work 1 round of double crochets.
Change to colour wasabi and work 1 round as follows: 1 double crochet in the first stitch, * 3 chain stitches and 1 double crochet in the next stitch *, work from *-* to the end of the round. Finish with 1 slip stitch in the first stitch. Cut the strand and fasten well.
DECORATION:
Use a left-over colour black. Embroider 2 triangles for eyes and 1 broken line for mouth - see picture.
TWISTED CORD:
Cut 4 strands of 3 metres, colour forest green. Twist the strands together until they begin to resist, fold double and the cord will continue to twist. Tie a knot in each end and thread the cord up and down through the holes in the bag, ending on the right side at both ends. Carefully untie the knots, then tie the ends together. Trim the ends. The cord can be pulled out on each side to make 2 handles.
