DROPS 230-41
DROPS Design: Pattern e-335
Yarn group A
-------------------------------------------------------

SIZES:
S - M - L - XL - XXL - XXXL

MATERIALS:
DROPS SAFRAN from Garnstudio (belongs to yarn group A)
300-300-350-350-400-450 g colour 65, pistachio

NEEDLES:
DROPS CIRCULAR NEEDLE SIZE 3 MM: Length 40 cm and 80 cm.
DROPS CIRCULAR NEEDLE SIZE 2.5 MM: Length 40 cm and 80 cm.
DROPS DOUBLE POINTED NEEDLES SIZE 3 MM.
DROPS DOUBLE POINTED NEEDLES SIZE 2.5 MM.
The technique MAGIC LOOP can be used – you then only need circular needle of 80 cm in each size.

KNITTING TENSION:
24 stitches in width and 32 rows in height with stocking stitch = 10 x 10 cm.
NOTE: Needle size is only a guide. If you get too many stitches on 10 cm, change to a larger needle size. If you get too few stitches on 10 cm, change to a smaller needle size.

EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN:

-------------------------------------------------------

PATTERN:
See diagrams A.1 to A.4. Choose diagram for your size (applies to A.4).

DECREASE TIP-1 (evenly spaced):
To work out how to decrease evenly, count the total number of stitches on needle (e.g. 228 stitches) and divide by number of decreases to be made (e.g. 20) = 11.4.
In this example decrease by knitting together alternately each 10th and 11th stitch and each 11th and 12th stitch (approx.).

INCREASE TIP (for sleeves):
Work until there are 2 stitches left before the marker thread, 1 yarn over, knit 4 (marker thread sits between these 4 stitches), 1 yarn over (2 stitches increased). On the next round knit the yarn overs twisted to avoid holes. Then work the new stitches in stocking stitch.

START THE PIECE HERE:

-------------------------------------------------------

JUMPER – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE:
The body is worked in the round with circular needle, bottom up. The sleeves are worked with double pointed needles/short circular needle, bottom up.
The body and sleeves are joined together and then the yoke is finished in the round.

BODY:
Cast on 228-252-273-300-330-363 stitches with circular needle size 2.5 mm and DROPS Safran.
Knit 1 round. Then work A.1 in the round over all stitches for 3 cm.
Knit 1 round where you decrease 20-22-25-26-30-33 stitches evenly spaced – read DECREASE TIP = 208-230-248-274-300-330 stitches.
Change to circular needle size 3 mm and work stocking stitch. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION!
When the piece measures 25-26-27-27-27-27 cm, cast off for the armholes as follows: Cast off 3-4-4-5-5-6 stitches, work 98-107-116-127-140-153 stitches in stocking stitch, cast off 6-8-8-10-10-12 stitches, work 98-107-116-127-140-153 stitches in stocking stitch, cast off 3-4-4-5-5-6 stitches. Cut the strand. Lay the piece to one side and work the sleeves.

SLEEVES:
Cast on 68-72-74-78-82-84 stitches with double pointed needles size 2.5 mm and DROPS Safran. Insert 1 marker at the beginning of the round; allow it to follow your work onwards, it is used when increasing under the sleeve.
Knit 1 round. Then work A.2 in the round over all stitches for 3 cm. Knit 1 round where you increase 4-5-8-11-12-13 stitches evenly spaced = 72-77-82-89-94-97 stitches.
Change to double pointed needles/short circular needle size 3 mm and work stocking stitch.
When the sleeve measures 5-5-4-4-3½-3½ cm from the cast-on edge, increase 2 stitches under the sleeve – read INCREASE TIP. Increase like this every 4-4-2-1-½-½ cm a total of 2-2-4-6-6-6 times = 76-81-90-101-106-109 stitches.
When the sleeve measures 13-12-12-10-9-7 cm from the cast-on edge, cast off for the armhole as follows: Cast off 3-4-4-5-5-6 stitches, work 70-73-82-91-96-97 stitches in stocking stitch, cast off 3-4-4-5-5-6 stitches. Cut the strand. Work the other sleeve in the same way.

YOKE:
Place the sleeves on the same circular needle size 3 mm as the body, where stitches were cast off for the armholes (without working the stitches) = 336-360-396-436-472-500 stitches.
Work 2-2-2-2-4-10 rounds of stocking stitch. Then work A.3 over all stitches.
When A.3 has been completed in height, work A.4 over all stitches. AT THE SAME TIME on each round marked with an arrow in A.4, decrease stitches evenly as described below– remember DECREASE TIP:

Arrow-1: Decrease 12-12-12-16-16-20 stitches evenly spaced = 324-348-384-420-456-480 stitches.
Arrow-2: Decrease 24-24-36-42-54-54 stitches evenly spaced = 300-324-348-378-402-426 stitches.
Arrow-3: Decrease 28-36-44-36-42-48 stitches evenly spaced = 272-288-304-342-360-378 stitches.
Arrow-4: Decrease 40-40-48-62-72-74 stitches evenly spaced = 232-248-256-280-288-304 stitches.
Arrow-5: Decrease 40-40-40-48-48-56 stitches evenly spaced = 192-208-216-232-240-248 stitches.
Arrow-6: Decrease 42-52-56-64-68-68 stitches evenly spaced = 150-156-160-168-172-180 stitches.

When A.4 has been completed, work stocking stitch until the piece measures 20-21-22-24-26-28 cm from the bottom of the armholes (approx. 2-3-4-4-5-5 cm stocking stitch after A.4) – AT THE SAME TIME on the last round decrease 30-32-32-34-34-36 stitches evenly spaced = 120-124-128-134-138-144 stitches.

NECK:
Change to short circular needle size 2.5 mm. Work A.2 in the round for 3 cm. Cast off with knit.

ASSEMBLY:
Sew the openings under the sleeves.
