MATERIALS:
DROPS PARIS from Garnstudio (belongs to yarn group C)
100-100 g colour 17, off white
50- 50 g colour 25, moss green
CROCHET HOOK:
DROPS CROCHET HOOK SIZE 4.5 mm.
CROCHET TENSION:
16 double crochets in width and 18 rows vertically = 10 x 10 cm.
NOTE! Remember that hook size is only a suggestion. If you have too many stitches on 10 cm switch to larger hook. If you have too few stitches on 10 cm switch to smaller hook.

EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN:

CROCHET INFORMATION:
Replace first double crochet on round with 1 chain stitch. Finish round with 1 slip stitch in first chain stitch at beginning of round. When switching colour on next row, you should switch colour before the last slip stitch is worked, this makes for nicer transitions on the stripes.

Work the hat in the round, top down
HAT:
Work 4 chain stitches on hook size 4.5 mm with colour off white in DROPS Paris, and form a ring with 1 slip stitch in first chain stitch. Read CROCHET INFO.
ROUND 1: Work 6 double crochets in ring.
ROUND 2: Work 2 double crochets in every double crochet = 12 stitches.
ROUND 3: * 1 double crochet in first/next stitch, work 2 double crochets in next stitch *, work from *-* the entire round = 18 double crochets.
ROUND 4: * 1 double crochet in each of the 2 first/next stitches, 2 double crochets in next stitch *, work from *-* the entire round = 24 stitches.
ROUND 5: * 1 double crochet in each of the 3 first/next stitches, 2 double crochets in next stitch *, work from *-* the entire round = 30 stitches.
ROUND 6: * 1 double crochet in each of the 4 first/next stitches, 2 double crochets in next stitch *, work from *-* the entire round = 36 stitches.
REMEMBER THE CROCHET TENSION!
ROUND 7: * 1 double crochet in each of the 5 first/next stitches, 2 double crochets in next stitch *, work from *-* the entire round = 42 stitches.
ROUND 8: * 1 double crochet in each of the 6 first/next stitches, 2 double crochets in next stitch *, work from *-* the entire round = 48 stitches.
ROUND 9: * 1 double crochet in each of the 7 first/next stitches, 2 double crochets in next stitch *, work from *-* the entire round = 54 stitches.
ROUND 10: * 1 double crochet in each of the 8 first/next stitches, 2 double crochets in next stitch *, work from *-* the entire round = 60 stitches.
ROUND 11: * 1 double crochet in each of the 9 first/next stitches, 2 double crochets in next stitch *, work from *-* the entire round = 66 stitches.
ROUND 12: * 1 double crochet in each of the 10 first/next stitches, 2 double crochets in next stitch *, work from *-* the entire round = 72 stitches.
ROUND 13: * 1 double crochet in each of the 11 first/next stitches, 2 double crochets in next stitch *, work from *-* the entire round = 78 stitches.
ROUND 14: * 1 double crochet in each of the 12 first/next stitches, 2 double crochets in next stitch *, work from *-* the entire round = 84 stitches.
Increase is done in size S/M.
SIZE L/XL:
ROUND 15: * 1 double crochet in each of the 13 first/next stitches, 2 double crochets in next stitch *, work from *-* the entire round = 90 stitches.
ALL SIZES:
Continue but without increase until piece measures approx. 17-18 cm.
BRIM:
Switch to colour moss green and work as follows:
ROUND 1: Work 1 double crochet in every stitch the entire round = 84-90 stitches.
ROUND 2: * 1 double crochet in each of the 13-14 first/next stitches, 2 double crochets in next stitch *, work from *-* the entire round = 90-96 stitches.
ROUND 3: Work 1 double crochet in every stitch the entire round.
ROUND 4: * 1 double crochet in each of the 14-15 first/next stitches, 2 double crochets in next stitch *, work from *-* the entire round = 96-102 stitches.
ROUND 5: Work 1 double crochet in every stitch the entire round.
ROUND 6: * 1 double crochet in each of the 15-16 first/next stitches, 2 double crochets in next stitch *, work from *-* the entire round = 102-108 stitches.
ROUND 7: Work 1 double crochet in every stitch the entire round.
ROUND 8: * 1 double crochet in each of the 16-17 first/next stitches, 2 double crochets in next stitch *, work from *-* the entire round = 108-114 stitches.
ROUND 9: * 1 double crochet in each of the 17-18 first/next stitches, 2 double crochets in next stitch *, work from *-* the entire round = 114-120 stitches.
ROUND 10: * 1 double crochet in each of the 18-19 first/next stitches, 2 double crochets in next stitch *, work from *-* the entire round = 120-126 stitches.
Cut the yarn, and switch to colour off white.
ROUND 11: * 1 double crochet in each of the 19-20 first/next stitches, 2 double crochets in next stitch *, work from *-* the entire round = 126-132 stitches.
Work a finishing edge as follows: Work 1 double crochet around every double crochet, i.e. do not work in stitch loops but work around the stitch itself. Finish round with 1 slip stitch in first stitch. Cut and fasten the yarn.
