START THE PIECE HERE:
-------------------------------------------------------
JUMPER - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE:
The body is worked in the round, bottom up. The piece is divided for the armholes and the back and front pieces are finished separately, back and forth.
The sleeves are worked in the round with double pointed needles/short circular needle, from the top down. The piece is sewn together and the neck worked to finish.
BODY:
Cast on 160-176-188-204-216-232-260 stitches with circular needle size 4.5 mm and colour powder pink DROPS Melody. Work rib in the round (knit 2, purl 2) for 7 cm.
Change to circular needle size 6 mm. Knit 1 round and decrease 28-32-32-36-36-40-44 stitches evenly spaced = 132-144-156-168-180-192-216 stitches.
Continue with stocking stitch and colour powder pink. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION!
When the piece measures 9-11-12-12-13-13-15 cm, work A.1, 11-12-13-14-15-16-18 times on the round. When A.1 is finished, the piece measures approx. 17-19-20-20-21-21-23 cm.
Continue with stocking stitch and colour powder pink until the piece measures 18-20-21-22-23-24-25 cm
Now work A.2 11-12-13-14-15-16-18 times on the round.
AT THE SAME TIME when the piece measures 32-33-34-35-36-37-38 cm, work the armholes as follows: Cast off the first 2-2-2-3-3-4-4 stitches, knit 63-69-75-79-85-89-101 stitches in pattern, cast off the next 3-3-3-5-5-7-7 stitches, knit 63-69-75-79-85-89-101 stitches in pattern, cast off the last 1-1-1-2-2-3-3 stitches. Cut the strand. Each piece is finished separately.
BACK PIECE:
= 63-69-75-79-85-89-101 stitches. Continue the pattern. When A.2 is finished continue with stocking stitch and colour off white to finished length.
AT THE SAME TIME, when the piece measures 48-50-52-54-56-58-60 cm, cast off the middle 21-23-23-25-25-27-27 stitches for the neck and finish each shoulder separately. Cast off 1 stitch on the next row from the neck = 20-22-25-26-29-30-36 stitches on the shoulder. When the piece measures 50-52-54-56-58-60-62 cm cast off. Work the other shoulder in the same way.
FRONT PIECE:
= 63-69-75-79-85-89-101 stitches. Continue the pattern. When A.2 is finished continue with stocking stitch and colour off white to finished length.
AT THE SAME TIME, when the piece measures 42-44-46-47-49-50-52 cm, place the middle 11-13-13-13-13-15-15 stitches on a thread for the neck and finish each shoulder separately. Continue to cast off for the neck as follows: 2 stitches 2 times and 1 stitch 2-2-2-3-3-3-3 times = 20-22-25-26-29-30-36 stitches on the shoulder. Cast off when the piece measures 50-52-54-56-58-60-62 cm. Work the other shoulder in the same way.
SLEEVES:
The sleeves are worked top down.
Cast on a little loosely 51-53-55-59-61-65-67 stitches with circular needle size 6 mm and colour powder pink. Insert a marker in the middle stitch on the row. Count from the mid-stitch where to start the pattern and work A.3 back and forth (the mid-stitch should match the mid-stitch in the diagram – the pattern will not fit each side).
When the sleeve measures 1-1-1-2-2-3-3 cm, join the piece and continue in the round with double pointed needles/short circular needle, leaving a split of approx. 1-1-1-2-2-3-3 cm at the top.
Insert a marker where the sleeve was joined (mid-under sleeve) and allow it to follow your work onwards. Continue the pattern.
When the sleeve measures 4-4-4-5-5-5-5 cm from the cast-on edge, decrease 2 stitches under the sleeve – read DECREASE TIP. Decrease like this every 3-3-3-2½-2½-2-2 cm a total of 5-5-5-6-6-8-8 times = 41-43-45-47-49-49-51 stitches.
When A.3 is finished the sleeve measures approx. 18 cm from the cast-on edge.
Continue with stocking stitch and colour powder pink until the sleeve measures 19-19-19-20-20-21-21 cm. Work A.4 – count from the mid-stitch where to start the pattern.
When A.4 is finished continue with colour powder pink until the sleeve measures 42-41-39-39-38-37-34 cm; there is approx. 7 cm left to finished length. Knit 1 round where you increase 7-9-7-9-11-11-13 stitches evenly spaced = 48-52-52-56-60-60-64 stitches.
Change to double pointed needles size 4.5 mm and work rib (knit 2, purl 2) for 7 cm. Cast off a little loosely. The sleeve measures approx. 49-48-46-46-45-44-41 cm from the cast-on edge. Work the other sleeve in the same way.
ASSEMBLY:
Sew the shoulder seams. Sew the sleeve cap to the armhole, then the split to the bottom of the armhole – see sketch.
NECK:
Using short circular needle size 4.5 mm and colour off white, start at one shoulder seam and knit up 64-72-72-76-76-84-84 stitches around the neck (including the stitches from the thread). The number of stitches should be divisible by 4. Work rib in the round (knit 2, purl 2) for 10-10-11-11-12-12 cm. Cast off a little loosely.
Fold the neck double to the inside and sew down. To avoid the neck being tight and rolling outwards, it is important that the seam is elastic.
