Crocheted star coaster in DROPS Paris. Theme: Christmas.

SIZE:
Piece measures approx. Width = 11 cm

MATERIALS:
DROPS PARIS from Garnstudio (belongs to yarn group C)
50 g colour 17, off white

1 star weighs approx. 14 g.

CROCHET HOOK:
DROPS CROCHET HOOK SIZE 4 mm.

CROCHET TENSION:
17 treble crochets in width and 10 rows vertically = 10 x 10 cm.
NOTE! Remember that hook size is only a suggestion. If you have too many stitches on 10 cm switch to larger hook. If you have too few stitches on 10 cm switch to smaller hook.

EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN:

CROCHET TIP FOR CHAIN STITCH:
If you work at the end of crochet hook the chain stitch will often be too tight. 
1 chain stitch should be just as long as 1 treble crochet/double treble crochet is wide.

START THE PIECE HERE:

COASTER – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE:
Worked in the round from the middle and outwards.

COASTER:
Begin on hook size 4 mm and DROPS Paris. Read CROCHET TIP FOR CHAIN STITCH, work 7 chain stitches and form a ring with 1 slip stitch in first chain stitch.
Then work diagram A.1. REMEMBER THE CROCHET TENSION!
When A.1 has been worked, fasten off.

STARCH:
To make the coaster rigid it can be dipped in sugar water or colourless soda and left flat to dry.

1 picot: Work 3 chain stitches, 1 slip stitch in first chain stitch (when 3 picots have been worked in total at the top of a treble crochet group, fasten last picot with 1 slip stitch at the top of last double treble crochet worked before continuing) = 1 picot: Work 3 chain stitches, 1 slip stitch in first chain stitch (when 3 picots have been worked in total at the top of a treble crochet group, fasten last picot with 1 slip stitch at the top of last double treble crochet worked before continuing)
