SIZE:
Piece measures approx. Circumference at the bottom = 23-31 cm Height = 11-12 cm

MATERIALS:
DROPS MERINO EXTRA FINE from Garnstudio (belongs to yarn group B)
50 g colour 26, pistachio
50 g colour 31, forest green

1 small Christmas tree = approx. 12 g without filling
1 large Christmas tree = approx. 20 g without filling

ACCESSORIES: Some cotton wool for filling

NEEDLES:
DROPS DOUBLE POINTED NEEDLES SIZE 3.5 mm

KNITTING TENSION:
22 stitches in width and 30 rows vertically in stocking stitch = 10 x 10 cm.
NOTE! Remember that needle size is only a suggestion. If you have too many stitches on 10 cm switch to larger needles. If you have too few stitches on 10 cm switch to smaller needles.

PATTERN:

DECREASE TIP:
Work until 2 stitches remain before marker, knit 2 together. Decrease like this at each marker.

CHRISTMAS TREE – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE:
Work Christmas trees in the round on double pointed needles, top down.
Christmas trees are worked different pattern and sizes.

SMALL CHRISTMAS TREE WITH TEXTURED PATTERN:
Cast on 5 stitches on double pointed needles size 3.5 mm with pistachio DROPS Merino Extra Fine. Knit 1 round. Then work pattern A.1 5 times in total on round.
REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION!
When diagram has been worked vertically, piece measures approx. 11 cm and there are 50 stitches on round.
Purl 1 round. Knit 1 round while at the same time decreasing 2 stitches evenly = 48 stitches.
Insert 8 markers on round with 6 stitches between every marker. Work in stocking stitch and decrease 1 stitch before every marker every other round 5 times in total - read DECREASE TIP = 8 stitches remain. Keep stitches on needle.
Fill the tree with desired amount of cotton. Cut the yarn, and pull strand through the stitches. Tighten the yarn and fasten.

LARGE CHRISTMAS TREE WITH TEXTURED PATTERN:
Cast on 6 stitches on double pointed needles size 3.5 mm with forest DROPS Merino Extra Fine. Knit 1 round. Then work pattern A.2 3 times in total on round. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION!
When diagram has been worked vertically, piece measures approx. 12 cm and there are 69 stitches on round.
Purl 1 round. Knit 1 round while increasing 3 stitches evenly = 72 stitches.
Insert 8 markers on round with 9 stitches between every marker. Work in stocking stitch and decrease 1 stitch before every marker every other round 7 times in total - read DECREASE TIP = 16 stitches remain. Knit 1 round where all stitches are knitted together 2 by 2 = 8 stitches remain. Keep stitches on needle.
Fill the tree with desired amount of cotton. Cut the yarn, and pull strand through the stitches. Tighten the yarn and fasten.
