Small basket: Diameter = 11 cm Height: = 10 cm
Large basket: Diameter = 15 cm Height: = 14 cm
MATERIALS:
DROPS SNOW from Garnstudio (belongs to yarn group E)
100 g colour 90, toffee (small basket)
150 g colour 89, clay (large basket)
CROCHET HOOK:
DROPS CROCHET HOOK SIZE 5 mm.
CROCHET TENSION:
14 double crochets in width and 17 rows vertically = 10 x 10 cm.
14 treble crochets in width and 8.5 rows vertically with basket pattern = 10 x 10 cm.
NOTE! Remember that hook size is only a suggestion. If you have too many stitches on 10 cm switch to larger hook. If you have too few stitches on 10 cm switch to smaller hook.

EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN:

CROCHET TIP FOR CHAIN STITCH:
If you work at the end of crochet hook the chain stitch will often be too tight.
1 chain stitch should be just as long as 1 double crochet/treble crochet is wide.
CROCHET INFORMATION (does not apply to rounds 2-7 in basket pattern):
At beginning of every round with double crochets work 1 chain stitch – this chain stitch does not replace first double crochet but is in addition. Finish round with 1 slip stitch in chain stitch at beginning of round.
At beginning of every round with treble crochets work 3 chain stitches – these chain stitches do not replace first treble crochet but are in addition. Finish round with 1 slip stitch in 3rd chain stitch at beginning of round.

BASKETS - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE:
Work baskets in the round from mid under basket and outwards/upwards.
SMALL BASKET:
Begin with crochet hook 5 mm and colour toffee in DROPS Snow.
Work 2 chain stitches - read CROCHET TIP FOR CHAIN STITCH.
ROUND 1: Read CROCHET INFORMATION, then work 6 double crochets in 2nd chain stitch from hook.
ROUND 2: Work 2 double crochets in every double crochet = 12 double crochets.
ROUND 3: Work * 1 double crochet in first/next double crochet, work 2 double crochets in next double crochet *, work from *-* the entire round = 18 double crochets.
REMEMBER THE CROCHET TENSION!
ROUND 4: Work * 1 double crochet in each of the first/next 2 double crochets, work 2 double crochets in next double crochet *, work from *-* the entire round = 24 double crochet.
ROUND 5: Work * 1 double crochet in each of the first/next 3 double crochets, work 2 double crochets in next double crochet *, work from *-* the entire round = 30 double crochets.
ROUNDS 6-9: Continue to increase 6 double crochets on every round by working 1 double crochet more before every increase = 54 double crochets on round.
Now work edge in basket pattern as follows:
ROUND 1: Remember CROCHET INFORMATION and work 1 treble crochet in every double crochet and increase at same time 2 treble crochets evenly on round (increase 1 treble crochet by working 2 treble crochets in same stitch) = 56 treble crochets.
ROUNDS 2-4: 1 chain stitch, * 1 treble crochet from the front around each of the next 2 treble crochets, 1 treble crochet from the back around each of the next 2 treble crochets *, work from *-* the entire round.
ROUNDS 5-7: 1 chain stitch, * 1 treble crochet from the back around each of the next 2 treble crochets, 1 treble crochet from the front around each of the next 2 treble crochets *, work from *-* the round. Basket pattern is now done.
Now work a finishing edge as follows:
ROUND 1: Remember CROCHET INFORMATION, and work 1 double crochet in every treble crochet the entire round.
ROUND 2: Work 1 double crochet in each of the first 10 double crochets, work 9 chain stitches (handle), skip the next 8 double crochets, work 1 double crochet in each of the next 20 double crochets, work 9 chain stitches (handle), skip the next 8 the double crochets, work 1 double crochet in each of the last 10 double crochets.
ROUND 3: Work 1 double crochet in every stitch, but over chain stitches work around chain stitches instead of in the stitches. Cut and fasten the yarn.
LARGE BASKET:
Begin with crochet hook 5 mm and colour clay in DROPS Snow.
Work 2 chain stitches - read CROCHET TIP FOR CHAIN STITCH.
ROUND 1: Read CROCHET INFORMATION, then work 6 double crochets in 2nd chain stitch from hook.
ROUND 2: Work 2 double crochets in every double crochet = 12 double crochets.
ROUND 3: Work * 1 double crochet in first/next double crochet, work 2 double crochets in next double crochet *, work from *-* the entire round = 18 double crochets.
REMEMBER THE CROCHET TENSION!
ROUND 4: Work * 1 double crochet in each of the first/next 2 double crochets, work 2 double crochets in next double crochet *, work from *-* the entire round = 24 double crochets.
ROUND 5: Work * 1 double crochet in each of the first/next 3 double crochets, work 2 double crochets in next double crochet *, work from *-* the entire round = 30 double crochets.
ROUNDS 6-12: Continue to increase 6 double crochets on every round by working 1 double crochet more before every increase = 72 double crochets on round.
Now work edge in basket pattern as follows:
ROUND 1: Remember CROCHET INFORMATION, and work 1 treble crochet in every double crochet = 72 treble crochets.
ROUNDS 2-4: 1 chain stitch, * 1 treble crochet from the front around each of the next 2 treble crochets, 1 treble crochet from the back around each of the next 2 treble crochets *, work from *-* the entire round.
ROUNDS 5-7: 1 chain stitch, * 1 treble crochet from the back around each of the next 2 treble crochets, 1 treble crochet from the front around each of the next 2 treble crochets *, work from *-* the round.
Repeat rounds 2-4 1 more time.
Basket pattern is now done.
Now work a finishing edge as follows:
ROUND 1: Remember CROCHET INFORMATION, and work 1 double crochet in every treble crochet the entire round.
ROUND 2: Work 1 double crochet in each of the first 13 double crochets, work 11 chain stitches (handle), skip the next 10 double crochets, work 1 double crochet in each of the next 26 double crochets, work 11 chain stitches (handle), skip the next 10 the double crochets, work 1 double crochet in each of the last 13 double crochets.
ROUND 3: Work 1 double crochet in every stitch, but over chain stitches work around chain stitches instead of in the stitches. Cut and fasten the yarn.
